McKimson's Bugs was based on the stuff he done for Clampett. Which was a much more aggressive version of the character. So that's what he used in "Rebel Rabbit", some of his best Bugs Bunnys.

Chuck Jones didn't like to use too much animation, he would just hold Bugs's expression, whereas Bob [McKimson] like to do big expansion on gesture, and that takes more drawings.

[...] And also, there was a lot of hazing with the poor guy [Friz Freleng], because he was kind of short stature. Like, Hugh Harman use to tell me that, he and Rudy [Rudolf Ising] walked down the sidewalk in front of the [Disney] studio and they would grab him by the arm and force him to walk really fast with them, and he hated it, Friz was cussin' and screaming at them. You know, they wouldn't stop doing it.
