I love how incredibly tortured Kirk is as a captain in tos. How he struggles with the sheer amount of responsibility, and seems to yearn for a simpler life. But at the same time, i love how when he isn't being a Starship captain, he is somehow even worse. More tortured. His best destiny is Captain, except even in that destiny, the man can't catch a break.
