Mark's Feed Store
The original Mark's Feed Store Bar-B-Q was built into, as you might guess, a real feed store. When originally built in 1947, the feed store was surrounded by livestock filled fields. Today, it's on a busy street in sprawling suburban Louisville. Multiple locations have sprung up, but I always like to go to the original location to see how it all began.
The ribs, fried pickles and burgoo are the house recommendations, and it's the most unusual of the three that really caught my taste buds. While spoon necessitated items like chili and Brunswick Stew are not exactly barbecue, barbecue restaurants will use them to feature their smoked meats. Barbecue people also just like these kinds of foods. Burgoo is in the same vein and it is the thing to try at Mark's Feed Store.
