Just this last October, I was looking for photos of him to edit him into a Halloween costume. I ended up just having him wear his Tok’ra uniform with fairy wings.
He and other Traveler help out Frederick.
Um…Ocker? If a guy is on the run, clearly from Daniel’s people, maybe don’t take the offer of trade for something very unique.
And Frederick? Are you trying to screw them over?
And Ocker is on his way!
Damn it!
Okay, don’t do anything to attract their attention.
Traveler 2: We didn’t see anyone.
And maybe get a better partner.
Traveler 2! Look at what you did!
And that’s the last we see of Ocker. I’ll comment more on my next Jeremiah post.
This overhead shot is reminiscent of Meaghan’s last scene. I wonder if it was intentional.
D’awww! He still loves Meaghan, but Erin is hopeful for the future.
Lee: Um, remember danger?
Now we know the real reason, Erin wanted Lee back in security. She wanted time off for a date. 😂 (Kidding, kidding.)
Badass in a tux!
“Erin, it was fun, but… I’m in love with Lee.”
I couldn’t resist. 😂 This is the last episode. If I can give “Team Leader” a whole boyfriend arc, then I can certainly throw in a budding romance between Markus and Lee. 🥰🤣
And that is the end of the series.
I wonder when they began writing with the knowledge that this would be the last season because there is a sort of strange combination having fodder in some places and feeling rushed in others. I must emphasize though, that this isn’t usually the case, but just in a few places here and there.
Okay, first, I admit, I find it hilarious that in the last episode, Mister was last seen, injured, having been throw in a river, and then almost at the beginning of this episode, he’s washed up on a riverbed. Like, “Oh, he’s just fine.”
But hey, he has a daughter…the girl that (until the last episode) I completely forgot about. They do have a cute moment together.
The school she is at though is what I mean by “feels like fodder.” Now…they did make use with school since Mister ended up there and used the posted guards to contact Kurdy about Sim’s location, which was an issue this episode…except that Mister had no problem finding Sim/the army last week. I suspect that the school plus daughter would have been much more major plot points if the show hadn’t ended, and I understand the writers going, “Gosh darn it, we are running out of time. Eh, just throw it in.” 😂 And Mister really needed some character background, so I enjoyed this choice.
However, as much as I enjoyed seeing “Ocker,” Karl from “Voices in the Dark” could have served the same purpose as Frederick.
Does this mean that the Blacked Widower curse continued? That girl had to have a mom. The mom probably died before we even met her. 😆
Okay, the build up, fake Daniel reveal, etc. I feel mixed, to be honest. There was a huge build up for two battles at once. The attack on Thunder Mountain is resolved fairly easily. (Because Lee is awesome.)
This was fine, to be honest, but it ends up being the only real “battle.” The other resolves in potential peace, which is great for the characters, but definitely left me feeling, “Huh? That’s it?!” I waited a few days to process this to write this post, and looking back… Yeah, it works. The whole season is about building an alliance, and now there is a great chance that a former enemy will join that alliance.
This is the main feeling rushed part. Had the show had more time, I am guessing we would have had that big battle, more conflict, then the Daniel reveal would have helped give a victory. There simply wasn’t enough time for all that, so the peaceful option is the better option. (But I also wish we saw that battle. 😂)
Erin was told by Mister that she would leave Thunder Mountain, so I think the dinner/dance was a nice scene of her accepting what is to come. The overhead shot, at least as I took it, implies that she will be leaving very soon. Having her actually leave would be a cliffhanger, basically, so this was a nice way to handle that issue. Believe in Mister, and the dinner and dance is Erin’s way of saying goodbye to a man she loves. Ignore Mister, and it sets up for a potential future relationship with her and Markus. It works both ways.
Markus himself… He’s not ready to move on, but he’s entertaining the thought of doing so in the future. His alliance is going to be stronger than ever. The future has a sense of hope. Two episodes ago, the chess scene was setup to be him to be the “king” who is taken by a surprise attack. Instead, he’s the “king” who won.
Lee is also back where he belongs, and he continues to prove himself. He’s still rough around the edges, and I legitimately laughed at his interrogation scene. Like when the other guy is all, “You can’t do that!” when Lee threatens his life. 😂 That dude was lucky that Theo wasn’t the one threatening him. 😆
Mister helped build a brighter future for his daughter. His character is… Honestly, I like the character, but I was not really invested in him. He might have suffered from being a one season character who was mostly a mystery.
Jeremiah and Kurdy… It feels like their stories weren’t resolved.
Jeremiah killed Sims, but where does he go from here? He seems trapped between being a leader when he doesn’t want to be while really wanting to go around doing missions with Kurdy, but Kurdy already has a new partner.
Kurdy’s miracle wish was for all weapons to disappear (something like that), so it’s fitting that he is part of the team to make possible peace, but other than that… He basically spends time prepping for a battle that doesn’t come.
I don’t know, it just feels like, for being the main main characters, they got short changed.
I don’t want to end on a sour note though. Jeremiah, Kurdy, and Mister are a three-man team now, helping to forge peace treaties. Maybe. Well, partly.
The end will bring in the formation of a very strong, but peaceful alliance that will bring back old technologies to various people. Not everything is resolved, and they shouldn’t be, but there is hope for the world and the characters.
Hey, Lee is back! Doing…communications? If that was specifically mentioned before, I don’t remember it.
Erin: You look like shit.
Me: No, he doesn’t.
Ahh! Don’t start that crap! Erin, don’t you know that’s a death sentence?!
Also, he does not look comfortable.
Conference time.
Markus having an “explain, explain, oh crap” moment. 😂
Things are definitely ramping up. Mister told Kurdy the truth about Libby. I like that Kurdy immediately believes him, wants to tell Jeremiah, but also doesn’t know what to do yet.
Now there is an impending attack on The Mountain itself. On one hand, I wish Markus saw it coming sooner, especially since he’s allowing more people in. On the other hand, it makes sense that this is his home, the safe place for years.
That goes for Lee as well. Between the two of them, they should have figured that the communications issues was part of an attack.
With Sims talking about making a surprise attack on “the king” while playing chess, I predict that Markus is going to be in serious personal danger at the end of the next episode.
But show?
Where is Theo?!
Anyway, I noticed distinctly different directing here, especially when they are talking at a table. The camera is circling them. It’s the enemy! 😂 If that’s a hint that they are being circled, that’s clever. Otherwise, it’s kind of distracting.
However, this shot is both beautiful and horrifying.
Aww, so desperate. He can’t touch. He can’t stop her. He can only watch helplessly.
Grrr.
The overhead shot early was a great choice to constant this one.
I am annoyed that both Markus and Kurdy both lost their girlfriends in such a short time. Even worse is that Jeremiah seems to now have his own potential girlfriend, introduced in this two parter.
Aww. He needs a hug.
Great episode. Jeremiah gets to finally reunited with his father and as I said, has a new potential girlfriend. The mystery of last season was solved.
And Meaghan‘s death does make sense. After everything she has gone through, after living in an isolated room behind glass for years. Now, she’s helped to rescue Markus. She was able to go outside and breathe fresh air, see nature, be free. The idea of having to go back into that small room would be absolute torture.
It just feels a bit much after Elizabeth’s “I’ll run around during a fire fight” death, and it definitely has “only the MC really matters” vibes.
Wait. Why do I get a better shot of this scene from the recap?
Nice to see Erin that continues to not be forgotten…like Theo apparently was.
😂 Sorry, Lee. This screenshot of you makes me laugh. It wasn’t even intentional. I was focused on Markus.
Great conversation. Lee is back with his old job now. Yea! I like that it was Erin’s idea.
La de dah. (Can’t think of anything. Sorry.)
D’aww!
*Snap, snap, “out.”* 😂
Markus and Sims meet…well, over a phone, obviously, not in person.
Okay, so Mister, not Markus is the one in personal danger…in theory. Sorry, that river just doesn’t look dangerous. Maybe he can find Meaghan while he’s in there. 😆
Finally! Lee realizes that danger will come from within.
Aww, poor Jeremiah has been told and accepted that Libby was a bad, bad girlfriend.
Oh, and a school of gifted children. Yea? This feels kind of a weird add on when we’re this close to the series. I’m guessing that they will be important next episode.
Dancing Markus. Well, not really, but it kind of looks like it.
Poor Mister learned he wasn’t going on this mission.
So Frederick meets Ocker Plus Friend, cries because of past mistakes, then…basically screws them over.
I may be slightly biased…okay, very biased, and he probably didn’t expect them to be caught that quickly…but I do feel like trading the watch was screwing over people who risked their lives/freedom to help him…especially since we learned that manipulating people is something that Fredrick is an expert at.
So, did Ocker live? Well, he’s told, “Tell us or die,” and the bad guys are suddenly on Daniel’s trail, so he definitely told…and I don’t blame him.
However, the guy he’s dealing with is Mr. Kills-A-Lot, so realistically, if he and Traveler 2 weren’t killed, they would have been enslaved for defying Daniel.
Maybe because of the urgency, he was allowed to live.
So the big reveal is that…Daniel isn’t a real person…which…if you are marathoning the show is kind of obvious. There is even a conversation with, “If he wasn’t real, we would have to invent him,” along with everything else, “We made him.”
I’m still waiting for the “Who killed Libby?” shoe to drop.
Also, I want Meaghan to return without the disease. I don’t care how unreasonable that request is. Come on show. You know the rules. “No body=No death.” Markus deserves his miracle.
Ooh, badass jump. I once wrote Malek’s host jumping down like this, but from a rooftop and with a pitchfork.
Yea Markus/Malek!
Aww, feeling conflicted, Markus?
Hey, it’s the scene that got me watching the show! 😂
More walking and talking. Uh, Markus, what are you doing with your hand?
😂 at Markus saying that one of the main ways to convey news is to tell a secret. 🤫 🤣
So Markus goes to Jeremiah to help him avenge Libby. It was rattler touching that Markus and Kurdy help Jeremiah with his revenge while also thinking of their own lost girlfriends. I’m looking forward to their reactions to the truth.
That was a badass fight scene with the way they all exploded out of the vehicle. Of course, they don’t get Libby’s other boyfriend (I don’t remember his name) because there are too many remaining episodes for that to happen yet. 😂
I liked the scenes with Erin and Mister. She’s so eager until she hears what message he has for her. Oops. So she’s going to leave The Mountain at some point. She probably prefers not knowing that. I wonder if this was setup for next season. I guess I’ll find out.
