1. Hannibal - Hannibal Lecter. I mean, duh - Hannibal was a favorite since the movies, but the series really expanded that love. I love how much of a dick he is, the awesome combination of high competence and sheer dumb luck, and how much of an idiot he is when he's in love, lmao
2. Star Trek: Deep Space Nine - Garak. I love pretty much everyone on DS9 (except for Dukat, fuck Dukat), but Garak takes the cake. Is amazing how a character who showed up in like, 39 episodes in a show with 173 episodes managed to be so remarkable and memorable. I just love Garak ~so much~
3. Torchwood - Captain Jack Harkness. Listen, Torchwood has its problems, but I love how much depth it gave to Jack. He's often remembered as a flirty, bubbly and happy character, but Torchwood shows the tragic side of his life so well. Jack is such a tragic and sad character in several aspects, but he's still a fighter and still so tough and lovable.
4. Vampire Chronicles - Lestat de Lioncourt. Let me have my cliches, ok? I love my Brat Prince. Anne often screws his characterization in later books (please don't talk to me about Blood Canticle) but he's essentially my favorite, the character that impulsioned me to read the whole Chronicles. I love his charm, his sheer love of life, his disrespect of rules, his genuine desire to be something better and how much he loves his friends and family. I also love his pettiness, his selfishness, his recklessness and how frightening cruel he can be. I also love the fact that he’s so openly bisexual, ngl
5. Queer as Folk - Brian Kinney. Brian is that kind of asshole character that I love. Often the typical jerk with a heart of gold. He can be such a bastard at times, but he's also so good. He tries a lot, even if he acts nonchalant all the time. He loves all his friends so much and does so much for them. And he's so unapologetic unashamed of being gay, and it was truly important for me when I first watched QaF.
6. Yuri On Ice - Victor Nikiforov. Months before I watched yoi, Victor was a character that I often saw across my dash and I already adored him for the few gifs I saw, so it was only natural when he became my favorite. At first he seems like the suave, cool kind of hero but he's actually such an adorable, smitten dork who fell in love at first sight with this sweet, drunk ass japanese man who drunkly asked him to be his coach? Victor is precious, I love him.
(i'm not really active in the fandoms bellow but I'm trying to get creative here and don't stuff all the other Star Trek series in the other numbers ok)
7. The Addams Family - Morticia Addams - Morticia is AWESOME. I love her in Anjelica Huston's interpretation, but my favorite version is Morticia played by the wonderful Carolyn Jones. She's witty, smart, delightful and the true head of the Addams Family. I LOVE her
8. Penny Dreadful - Vanessa Ives - Listen, Vanessa deserved everything good in the world, and what she got? Absolutely nothing. It makes me SO mad. Vanessa got so fucked over by literally everyone on her life and she had her dark streak, but she also still had so much good on her.
9. Versailles - Chevalier de Lorraine - Versailles is a new fandom and I still haven't watched the last half of the second season, but I can already say I love Chevalier a lot. He can be such a nasty dick, but he's so endearing to me? I adore him. Also, I spent at least three nights reading about French court because the character inspired me to know more about his real life counterpart, and I was soo fascinated with, in the lack of better words, how openly gay he and Philippe were on real life, living at the time they did.
10. The Lord of Rings - Frodo Baggins - Listen, Frodo is so unnapreciated?? That poor hobbit never wanted any of the awful things that happened to him, but he was still so brave and resilient and I get so mad when people call him weak. Frodo Baggins is strong as hell and I adore him.
I’m not good at tagging people, but if anyone wants to do this, feel free to do so ~~
