Marnas 2017-08-16
I thoroughly enjoyed this ca. 20-minute video about Marnas, a garden in Sweden designed by landscape architect Sven-Ingvar Andersson for his summer home, and tended by him for more than 50 years, until he died in 2007. The video is part of a larger project about the garden by Anne Whiston Spirn (Cecil and Ida Green Professor of Landscape Architecture and Planning at MIT). Spirn narrates the video from her translations of Andersson's writings; most of the photographs and video are hers as well. Really inspirational, on a number of levels. As Andersson said, "a mistake opened up a path to renewal." My favorite feature of the garden: the Portal of Death. :)
