summary: Scallison + A new baby
He forced himself out of bed, throwing the pillow down on top of Allison, who didn’t even move. Scott couldn’t be mad at her. She had carried the baby around for nine months, of course she was tired. The least he could do was wake up every four hours to feed their little girl.
Scott found his way to the bottles they had set up, getting the warmest one, before moving back to the little baby in her cradle. “Hey, Maddy,” He cooed softly, picking her up, the tiny one calming at the sense of her Father. It was like she felt the essence of protection he put off. He offered her the bottle, before starting to bounce her in his arms a little. It was mostly to keep himself awake if nothing else. But the small smile it earned was enough to make him keep doing it.
Maddy had inherited most of her mother. She had gotten her perfectly sparkly brown eyes, wide smile, nose, and pale complexion. But she had gotten Scott’s thick hair, and, from what the new parents could tell, his positivity. The baby never cried unless she was hungry or needed her diaper changed.
“You’re my little girl, Maddy. Daddy’ll take good care of you.” Scott promised as he put her up on his shoulder to burp her. Allison wasn’t sleeping, but listening to Scott handle the baby, and smiling to herself. Maddy wasn’t exactly the plan this early in their marriage, but there was no one she would rather have a baby with than him. The burp Maddy let out was loud enough that Allison couldn’t help but laugh, and sit up, rubbing her eyes. “She got her eating habits from you,” She teased, pointing groggily at Scott.
Scott set the baby safely in her cradle before going to Allison, and pressing his lips to her forehead. “Well, it’s a good thing she’s as pretty as you.” Scott looked over at the clock, reading 5:30 AM. “It’s almost morning. Do you want some eggs? I don’t think I can get to sleep again.” He said, sitting on the edge of the bed.
Allison leaned forward, arms wrapping around Scott’s neck, her head nuzzling into his chest. Letting his arms drape across her back, Scott smiled to himself. “Is that a no on the eggs?” He whispered in her ear. Allison laughed, and shook her head. “I’d love some.” She said, getting ready to get out of bed before Scott stopped her. “How about breakfast in bed for the new mommy?” He said, leaning down to kiss her. “I love you.”
“I love you, too.” She said, as he left to go cook the eggs. Allison could hear Maddy babbling softly from her cradle, and went to pick her up, bringing her back to bed, wrapped up in her arms. “Hey, sweet girl. I’m your Mommy, remember me?” She asked, earning a pair of bright curious eyes. “Daddy and I are going to teach you so much. We’ve learned so much. And we’re always going to love you, no matter what.” Allison said, leaning down to kiss her forehead. “You’re such a beautiful little girl. Aunt Lydia is going to have so much fun dressing you up.” She said, tickling the baby under her chin, earning that beautiful giggle that could cure cancer with how innocent and pure it was. After everything the pack had been through over the years, this was what made it all worth it. Bringing a new life into a world that was safer by her own hands. It still made it scary knowing how cruel the world would be, even to Maddy. But at least she knew she wouldn’t have to worry about that for a while. Although, she had decided if Maddy didn’t end up a werewolf, she would start training her early to defend herself.
Scott reappeared, a tray, with two plates of eggs and toast in his hands. “Hey, how did she get over here?” Scott, teased, picking her up, blowing raspberries against her stomach. “Did she use her baby wolf powers?”
“Scott, you don’t know if she’s a werewolf yet. She’s barely a week old! She could be perfectly human.”
“And I will love her all the same,” Scott said, tucking her back into her cradle, and hand running over her bald head. “Now, eat your eggs before they get cold.
“You really are going to be a good Dad, aren’t you?” Allison spoke between a bite of her eggs. God, she forgot how much she loved Scott’s eggs.
“Only because I have the best Mom by my side.” He said, smiling at his own cheesy line.
Allison laughed at him, smacking his arm lightly. “I’m really glad you’re the one, Scott. I don’t think I could do this without you.”
“I couldn’t do it without you, either. I love you.”
“I love you, too.”
