Traveling with kids doesn’t have to cost an arm and a leg. Prior to our recent Niagara Falls road trip, I hit up Trader Joe’s and stocked up on our favorite snacks. Our hotel rate included a hot breakfast voucher and access to the concierge lounge for dinner. So these two traveling moms found a kid friendly lunch option and stuck to it. Zappi’s is located one block from the Marriott Fallsview and so we could walk there for lunch and then hit the sites. They offered individual make your own pizzas for the kids which kept them engaged and entertained. They also gave them dough to play with. The adult menu was extensive and good quality. Niagara Falls is extremely commercialized with a large number of chain restaurants. We were ecstatic to have found a local joint that used fresh ingredients without breaking the bank. Please note that while the service and food were great, the service was very slow. It took forever for all the pizzas to come out of the oven.

The Falls are lit up at night and there were fireworks nightly during our stay. We also got to enjoy an amazing full rainbow over the horseshoe Falls. This view is from our fallsview room at the Marriott fallsview.
