everywhere one looked, the demons left a trail of chaos in its wake. between patrols and watching over the other teams aster barely had any time to draw. her sketchbook was the only solace, especially in these hard times. delicate fingers ran across her newest sketch: a wolf howling at the moon. warm hues landed on a sunflower pencil case, just now realizing how run down her pencils were. great! this was the perfect excuse to get out of the stuffy apartment and all the noise below. which isn’t to say that she didn’t enjoy being around her pack, but sometimes she needed to get away.
with a pep in her step, she made her way out and hummed quietly to herself. how convenient that there just happen to be a bookstore nearby. who doesn’t like a good read? as aster neared the building, she couldn’t help but think how quaint it looked nestled between a clothing store and cafe. she reached for the door, pausing as the aroma of coffee hit her like a wave. a sigh of content escaped her; paradise. sometimes all a girl needed was a sketchbook and some coffee or tea - both were good options.
aster ambled toward the journals since that’s where they usually kept their art supplies. head canting slightly, a thoughtful expression on her face. after mulling over the prices, she decided to go with the graphite pencils, she only had a few of them anyways. she nodded to herself before heading up to the counter. out of the corner of her eye, a book that’s been on her to-read list for a while caught her attention, unfortunately she only brought enough money for one thing. in her head there was a mental tug-of-war; pencils vs. book. ultimately the pencils won, sadly. it’s for the best. though that didn’t stop her from staring at said book (it was about the moon) with a look something akin to a kicked puppy. ever since she became a wolf she’s wanted to learn everything there is to know about them and that includes the moon.
shaking out of her stupor, she laid the pencils on the counter, pulled out her wallet, gazed up and was greeted with a familiar face. a warm smile spread across her face. ‘ lysander, I didn’t know you worked here! ‘
