Clay from Mars for #whateverwednesday @seattlepotterysupply got the chemical composition of Mars soil, and made a clay from it. What self respecting clay geek can resist that? It shapes nicely as a smooth turn-your-fingers-orange clay, but as it dries it gets a white crust from the salt content, like shinos do. All sorts of wax design ideas pop into mind. Way cool! I fired in little saggers to 04 without any glaze on these. No idea why one is brown with a red flash at the bend while the other is bright red.
