Ugh, this game! 😍 Also, hi! It's been... a while. But with Starfield on the horizon and a brand-new gaming PC on my desk (that I built with my own bare hands, tears were shed) - I'm back!

So to pass the time until September 6th, I decided to check out the Palia open beta (I've had this game on my radar for a year or so), and it's got me hooked. It's kind of like Stardew Valley x Animal Crossing (gameplay-wise) and Ghibli x WoW (art style-wise) and I'm very much here for it.

I've been playing for a few days now and I really like the cosy vibe, charming NPC's, cute home decor and fishing & cooking skills. That being said, there's a few downsides, like the insane (vanity) store prices and the lack of basic functions (just let me sit on my chairs and zoom the camera in and out!). I also wish there was more to the MMO element, there's no real need to group up and servers are small (25). Also, the world is not that big, although this doesn't necessarily have to be problematic (think Stardew) and the game is still in beta of course.

Sooo, turns out having a baby drastically cuts into your gaming time! (I love him to the moon and back though)

Also, it still feels like 2020 and I’m certainly still processing 2021 but somehow it’s 2022, how did this happen?!

To balance out the full-time mom-ing/working (and slowly going insane), I decided I need some games in my life again to unwind at night (when I should be sleeping). So I eased back into gaming with the beautiful ocean exploration game Abzû on the Switch.

Sims next? Animal Crossing? Go on a CC rampage? Disappear for another year? Who knows!
