Hi there hello I was thinking about watching marvel zombies, but wanted to wait for general opinion to drop. Could you maybe talk about what you dont like about it?

first of all, I gotta clear things out. I did not watch the What if Zombie episode that the series is some kind of continuation of. So I judge it as it's own thing
The thing that frustrated me the most was the plot, which for my taste, got incredibly overcomplicated the more we delved into the series
I think a concept of Zombies in the Marvel universe is interesting in itself and I was disappointed about how it felt like the writers missed it's potential
I'm a big fan of the original comic series and wanted to see it's adaptation. But from the trailer alone, I could tell they're probably going in different direction.
So When I waited for Marvel Zombies to drop, I was expecting to see epic battles when characters go fully rouge and fight without holding back
Mosty just waited for Spider-Man to show up as I saw people hyped for this one shot of him in the trailer when he cuts zombies's heads with his webbing
But Spider-Man was just another over glorified cameo so uhh.. yeah........ that was disappointing
I'm not that much of a fan of the MCU overall and Im not that familiar with the cast of main characters in the series
But I was open-minded The series overall just didn't stuck a landing with the whole 'zombie apocalypse' vibe. It really annoyingly was doing some unfunny cringy jokes every minute. Trying to lighten the mood for some reason??
It's pretty much the end of the human race so uhh... I don't think it worked well to showcase the pure horror and tragedy of the situation ya know?
But at least it had sometimes some cool fight scenes
Though, the animation looked soooooo bad and stif often when the characters just talked. Ughh..But it's just my opinion overal
ldk maybe you'll enjoy it. It's not a 'bad' series. There can be lots of things someone can enjoy about it. Maybe I just wasn't the target audience

Since I finally got my Tumblr up and running, I thought I'd give my own little review of Marvel's newest release: ECHO

I really liked it!
I thought the show had good pacing, especially for a runtime of five episodes. Personally, I think the pacing was better than what the past marvel shows have put out with at least six episodes each.
I think this show set out to depict a certain portion of Maya's character arc which was healing from her traumatic past and learning to let go of her guilt and hate. A great contrast between her and Fisk who can't let go of anything even though Maya tried to help him. He'll always be that little boy stuck in a bad situation, and (in his mind) the only way to get out and assert his dominance is through violence. I know we got some of that in the Daredevil show, but it was nice to see it expanded upon and I think really adds to Fisk's villainy. I'm sure there's much more on that in the comics, but I have not yet read them. I just know the run where Kingpin's face is bandaged probably had some inspiration for his future in the MCU...at least for this show and whatever project he's in next.
I appreciate that this was a show that focused a lot on our character, I personally feel like we've been missing that in the MCU lately. So the stakes may not have been super high but it really made me fall in love with Maya as a character.
I loved the lore and I also really appreciated the way they incorporated her Alias Echo and how she got there. This is as good an origin story for a character the casual marvel fan may not know much about.
I'm not a big comic reader, so I'm not sure how they handled echo's powers in the comics, but I thought it was cool the way the show did it. If the comics are anything like the Shang Chi comics, then I think the portrayal of Maya's powers in the show is probably more in line with her heritage, and I appreciate that.
I loved that each episode was titled the names of Maya's past ancestors until we get to Maya herself. It really helped us feel there in the moment on the echoing journey.
Overall, the only thing I was iffy about was the big climax at the end with the use of her powers. I didn't expect every woman in her bloodline to be able to also harness this power as well but logistically it made sense and followed all the crumbs we were given throughout the episodes.
Also in terms of TV MA rating...the show could have been darker. I'm not saying I wanted it to be darker. I am perfectly fine with what we got, but I think there was room to do a little more.
Kingpin scared the crap out of me, especially him standing in the dark like a mobster Slender Man!
This show left me with a warm, yet oddly bittersweet feeling in my chest (as if I had gone through this personal journey with Maya) which the MCU has honestly not done for me in a while.
I loved all the characters!
I'd love to see Maya again too. I wasn't sure how I felt about her in Hawkeye, but this show really made me love her. Her sassy commentary really had me going. Can't wait to see what Maya Lopez does in the future.

Captain Marvel Review
Captain Marvel was just absolutely stunning. In a more serious point of view, it displayed the many problems women face and go through. One of the larger examples is where women having feelings and putting their hearts over their heads is seen as “too emotional”. However, they dealt with it in such a beautiful way and truly showed that there’s 100% nothing wrong with staying in tune with your emotions and to feel things. It makes you stronger as a woman, as a person in general, and letting your emotions, like determination, to take control of your actions will lead to sometimes not the desired but a good outcome.
In a more non serious point of view, HOLY SHIT. Okay, this movie is what every person (not limited to women) should watch on International Women’s Day. After watching it, if you’re a woman and don’t feel like you could kick ass, how?? This show is literally a big “fuck you” to every sexist/prejudiced against women person and it will give every girl out there a sense of empowerment, like you could conquer the entire galaxy while having enough time to watch the entire collection of mcu movies a hundred times. DONT GET ME STARTED ON THE RELATIONSHIPS The friendships in it are amazing, especially between Carol and Nick Fury and Maria. The plot twist?? Was great. The outfits?? Quality. The characters full personalities?? Spectacular. Captain Marvel herself?? Fucking marvellous. She was kind, intelligent, confident, independent, funny, and witty. So, so witty. No wonder she glows so hot, she’s constantly ROASTING everyone around her.
Although I found the movie slow at first and I didn’t get fully invested until Carol crashed onto earth, it was overall an incredible movie with plenty of hilarious bits and inspiring lessons and messages.
Marvel Scale Rating: 8/10
