Rose was in the Slytherin dorms anyway visiting Thomas when she realised it had been a few days since she’d seen Mason and she probably ought to check on him, or at least have a catch up. They hadn’t been really talking as much lately, partly because she was worried about him so didn’t want to unload her problems on him and partly because he was a little out of control part of the time. She wandered over to the other dorm and knocked on the door, waiting for it to open.

Rose walked into the Slytherin common room biting her lip, she’d yet to see Mason after the summer, she’d seen the Prophet and she knew how horrified his parents would be. What’s more, she knew what it was like to have the Prophet pick apart your life and throw whatever they wanted on the front page, Rose had been subject to that before. She glanced around but didn’t see him. She headed up towards his dorm, knocking on the door before entering. “Mason?”

Hmm, this is a hard one, I guess I’d cuddle Mason because I don’t fancy being murdered by Zeus. I’d marry Scorp because we fight like an old married couple already and it honestly wouldn’t change much which means Thomas is getting lucky.

“Mason is a very good friend of mine, he listens to me rant and he’s one of the people I trust. I worry about him, I wish he’d take better care of himself. I wish I was better at helping him when he needs it. I think he deserves better and I wish he would realise it. Better than his family and maybe better than Zeus (the juries still out on that one).”
