Eleneri Does Tea - and for once, it's not her own!
Y'all, Ladyamesindy has crafted a gorgeous tea. I mean, really.
Her Serafina blend was so beautifully floral in the pouch that I almost wished it could be perfume. I didn't steep it too long, since Earl teas can go bitter quickly. 3 minutes gives me a lovely, floral brew, and the peach and lavender really do go well together. I wouldn't have thought, but really, it does! I think I might steep it longer the next time to see how deep I can get the flavor without going to YIKES bitterness.
What I really like is that I can't pinpoint this tea. Yes, the lavender is obvious, but it's not in-your-face. The peach and strawberry (?) harmonize so well that they do take it to another level, but they're subtle, too. It's a really bardic tea; lyrical, poetic, but civilizing. And very sneaky. I keep waiting for the headshot... ;) I think that's the caffeine, since it's a black tea, but it's the smoothest black tea I've tried.
Also, the label art is GORGEOUS!

OK, I've been dithering over this blend for a while, but the predominance of people with either headaches or migraines or just plain seasonal allergy pain has made me get off my duff and attempt to make an appropriate graphic for L2 Migraine Remedy Tea.
(That turned into a saga, because I didn't have a good base graphic of Kaidan holding his head in agony, which turned into me watching all of Rose's ME1 endgame and discovering that I could screenshot off of already-recorded stuff... with my 4 year old on my lap. He's half as tall as I am. It took a while.)

Furthter Adventures of Eleneri and Tea
My family went away this past weekend for the Fourth of July, which was nice. I'm really not much of a traveler, because it's a huge stress to me to have to leave my territory, pack everything I think everyone needs (doesn't every mom travel with a stethoscope and a pulse-O2 meter?) and keep all of it in limited space. Plus, we were going up into the mountains to a friend's cabin. No internet.
No Mass Effect.
No Tumblr.
But by gosh, I had tea.
I packed my sampler set of Mass Effect teas, my IngenuiTea, turbinado sugar, and two mugs. And my laptop, preloaded with downloaded fanfic. And lo, there was civilization! Also the beginnings of a James Vega fiction, but that's another story. Literally.
The Kasumi blend was jasmine and earl grey and lovely with milk and sugar looking out over the mountains. Garrus is a dependable and wonderful wakeup call. Shepard was invaluable for that first morning at elevation. My four year old son drank all my Thane tea. Plus, I got to show off my nifty IngenuiTea brewer (seriously, this thing is simple and brilliant). Also brag about tea.
We had a great time with our friends and their kids and dog, and the views were gorgeous, but when we got home, I was sooo thankful to have an internet connection again. Considering that I didn't grow up with the Internet, it's surprising how important it is to me now. I can connect with friends, read more stories, and blend more teas.
Oi, the tea thing.
What started as "I can make a blend for my femShep" turned into "I can make blends inspired by friends' Shepards" to "I need a decaf Kaidan blend that's a little different" to "There's only one Steve Cortez blend? No!". We shall not mention my continuing and apparently neverending attempt to build a James Vega blend that has somehow yielded two Garrus blends (Officer Vakarian and Turian Bad Boy) but no James. (I'm getting thwarted by adagio.com on the James thing, because the flavors I want for him aren't available on my blend menus). I'm not giving up, though. I can be patient. Oh, yes.
You cannot imagine the fun I'm having with this. And I'm passing the love along; my sister just inspired and blended a post-con cosplayer's blend, and my daughter built her own airbender bend. My husband doesn't drink tea, but he says he loves seeing me smile while I'm talking about my teas and what I'm doing. He is such a wonderful man, I swear. :D
I'm thinking if I ever get to 100 followers (and I can't imagine why I would, but I somehow gained 46 very lovely people at some point. *waves* *hugs*) I will do a giveaway of tea. Because I can't do art, except for writing, so unless someone wants a knitted headband or blanket or something (ooh! N7 afghan!), I'm pretty much useless.

The Further Adventures of Eleneri - in Tea Form
Grassy, classy, and a little bit sassy, today's tea is Ashley, by Jessica S.
It's a green tea, rather grassy, with a slightly sour aftertaste and a distinct note of cherry. It would be easy to classify Ashley Williams as Alliance-issue coffee, strong, no nonsense, no finesse. I think that would be doing her a disservice. This tea has a caffeine kick (not as strong as a black tea, thank goodness) and a gunpowder bite, but also a series of layers of herbal flavor and a bit of sweetness. It's definitely Ashley, definitely a good morning tea for when I need a bracing wake-me-up but don't want the blast from Wrex.
Definitely another recommended tea from the Mass Effect series!
I doon't even like tea but I've just ordered both of those teas so I can stare at them. I feel like I should tell you if they change my mind on tea. Just because those pictures were beautiful (:
