𝐖𝐇𝐎: Winnie Clarington-Smythe & @zoepuckerman
𝐖𝐇𝐄𝐍: Saturday, December 19th. Brunch time.
𝐖𝐇𝐄𝐑𝐄: The Lima Bean.
There were lots of things Winnie didn’t understand. Math. The color orange. Austin Nelson’s natural hair color. But most importantly, she didn’t understand why Zoe Puckerman hated her. Well, she did know, but what happened to letting bygones be bygones? It’s not like she hurt Zoe when she cheated on Theo and it also wasn’t Winnie’s fault that she was a born and bred bitch. Even her best compliments came off as insults and there was no way that come spring Winnie was even going to be considered for Cheerios captain if she didn’t start getting her shit together. In the past year, Winnie had tried numerous times to get on Zoe and Lemon’s good sides and failed. Every. Single. Time. She just wasn’t cut out for the follower life.
Anyone with half a brain would probably seek out asylum in Lemon. She was nicer, but Winnie knew if she were to get on Coach Tanaka’s good side it was via Zoe. Winnie and Zoe were essentially cut from the same cloth. Hot, blonde, mean. It was no doubt that if they were one day to get along that they could probably cause the worst terror around McKinley and Winnie was just the perfect person to fill Zoe’s role when she graduated. It was a spot she rightfully deserved. Who else would be able to? Ivy? No way, she had soft spots and anyone could see that. So, Winnie had to do what she needed to in order to find Zoe’s good side.
Brunch. It was literally the rich girl’s way of saying please like me.
Once Winnie convinced Zoe to meet her at the Lima Bean, she showed up to the coffee shop way earlier than she was supposed to and quickly ordered two vanilla lattes. One hot and one iced with almond milk along with a couple of croissants. The buttery carb would go straight to Winnie’s ass, but fuck it. She could reward herself this one time. As soon as the blonde gathered her goodies, she spotted Zoe walking in and sitting at a table. “One vanilla latte for Zoe Puckerman,” she sang as she placed the coffee and croissant in front of Zoe, taking a seat in front of the co-captain. “If it’s fucked up, literally like let me know and I’ll go murder that heinous hipster that calls himself a barista,” she spouted off quickly. God, was she trying too hard already? Bring it down a notch.
“But like, I know you probably want to get to Cammy’s little shindig so I’ll make this quick,” pulling the straw of her iced coffee up to her mouth, Winnie took a dramatic sip and looked over at Zoe. “I just wanna say I’m happy we could chit chat just girl to girl. One on one, you know,” a pause. “But I just thought we could like, I don’t know, amend things. You know, me dating Theo, fucking Austin, saying you look like a pig, saying you were gonna end up knocked up like your mom...” Winnie had to stop herself momentarily before she got too carried away. “Basically, what I’m trying to say is that I’m like supes sorry.”
