I attended a talk on how to write a good thesis. Unfortunately there is a first part and the one i attended was the 2nd part. The speaker was a Mechanical engineering professor and keeps giving examples about nano particles and air-conditioner etc. i had a good grasp after all. He started with what is dissertation and thesis. Different place/institution has different meaning. Then how to write a good title, what to write in the introduction and all the other chapters. What he emphasis on was for each objectives, there must be a specific subtopic in methodology and results and discussion chapter. So that it will ease the reader and examiner. And do not use jargon to attract people. It will chase readers if anything. Use simple and concise words and focus on the things that you study on. All of these will make your thesis be accepted to ISI journal. He had thousands citation so i better believed in him even if he is obviously a Bangladeshi bloke. Afternoon i had a qualitative class. Two professors from Iraq- university of Baghdad and hospital to sit in class. We had presentations on data collection, interview and observation, and sampling- snowball, purposive and theoretical. None will be test in final exam though. But a little on interview, integrated with others. I asked my teacher what will be in the exam. As always an excellent teacher will tell you- read and you will get A. Thank you so much for yet again reminding me.
