Calcutta Roll. Not Kolkatta Roll. Takes me back to Golden Spoon and the unnamed carts on Shakespeare Sarani, Ballygunge Phadi. Thick paratha with 'Fried onions' or No onions BUT never ever Raw onions. Sprinkled with dusty masala that never had a name or could be distinguished. And once in a way multitude of sauces with chillies. Wrapped in a newspaper. The aroma hits you first. Take a small bite, let the pungency and the egg with paratha fill the being before the second, third, fourth and the roll was over. Wiping your hand contemplation - do I need another, do I have enough money? Will the wife be angry if I pretend not to be hungry.... Trudge towards home... #BhimaRolls #Nostalgia #Masttry
