If it was honest, it would say “I wanna find out stuff about this thingy. I don’t know what other thingys would help, and I can’t describe the properties of the thingy. If I could, then I wouldn’t be writing a proposal on it. Please give me money.” Note: This is for a Master’s degree. I am allowed to not know things about the thingy. That’s the point.

I HAVE FINISHED MY SENIOR THESIS

WHY √(2)? I am having such difficulties finding the justification for the √(2) choice for the lowpass filter for Haar/Daubechies Wavelets. Every source I find is like well clearly from the choice of the filters we find these conditions when plotting their finite Fourier series. And i'm like but what if you don't know the filter coefficients?!? WHERE DID THE √(2) come from!?

I’m making great progress on my thesis. My coding skills in Mathematica have improved greatly and my advisor said so. Also, I have things I can show people to kinda explain the direction I’m going in.
