A New Day's Coming
This is a solid opening track. I am a firm believer that, if you have a strong opening track, your album is GUARANTEED TO BE A BANGER. This song is just so beautiful that I feel I can't put it into words. Also, Frank says he wrote this song to sing to his kids which is so sweet <3
Young and Doomed ⭐🥉
GOD I LOVE THIS SONG SO MUCH. I think this is one of the first songs I heard of Frank's solo stuff, but I digress. This next bit kind of goes for most, if not all, of the songs on this album. With this song, I don't relate to the self-harm that's mentioned, but the idea that I'm young and already have these issues (i.e. young and doomed!). I also love the cheeky My Chem ref!
Fever Dream
I like this song. It just doesn't stand out as much to me as other songs on this album.
The Host
This is another song that I like that just didn't really stick out to me.
Basement Eyes⭐
I think this is my favorite song from this entire album. I went into further detail about how I feel about this song here, but TLDR: whenever I listen to this song, I get this sense of melancholy and hope at the same time. I think this is one of the most beautiful songs this man has written.
Ode to Destruction
Didn't really stand out. I don't really have an opinion. Love it tho! "So here's to those that wish us well / The rest can go to hell," THAT IS SO YUMMY.
The Unfortunate
THIS SONG IS SO GOOD I LOVE IT. "I'm sorry darlin' / I'm not the man I thought I was," that changes into "I'm sorry darlin' / You deserve a better song"??? Mr. Iero, you have me sobbing at my desk.
Moto Pop
"Never meant to say "I'm sorry" / Just hate to hear an awkward pause / Unmarked, my feelings get buried / Up to my throat 'til I can't talk," OOF FELT THAT.
Medicine Square Garden ⭐
THIS IS ANOTHER ONE OF MY TOP FAVS FROM THIS ALBUM. The intsturmentation really reminds me of 80s music in general, which I have a soft spot for.
No Love ⭐🥈
I rediscovered this song the other day while I was listening to my music at work, which lead me down a path of listening to Frank's music again and stumbling upon this album once again. I love that feeling u get when rediscovering a song. My fav line has to be, "But I'll go to the end of the Earth / If it means I'll end up with you / Yeah, I'll cross the distance you aim to create."
Police Police
Upon listening to the album for this review, I never realized No Love and this song create a perfect transition! Also, the lyrics of this song are amazing, touching on the issues of immigration laws and child separation. In my opinion, and this could be my sleep deprived brain taking hold, but this song feels like it could have been a Leathermouth song.
Great Party
I like this song! The music video is amazing! You guys should watch it if you haven't.
Six Feet Down Under
God, this song is amazing.
24k Lush ⭐🥇
Okay, listen up. When I originally wrote this review on May 29th, I said Basement was my number one song from this album and the SECOND most beautiful song has written. Well, on my millionth listen to this album, I have come to the conclusion that this song is not just my new number one from this album, but the most beautiful song he's written. This song is so beautiful just AUGH 😫
Closing Notes
THE ALBUM IS FUCKING AMAZING. GO LISTEN TO IT IF YOU HAVEN'T YET!
