Hunt sneaks into seconds

Karmichael Hunt will sneak into the reserves this Saturday, in what is being described as a "low-key comeback".

Hunt, who has only played one game since round 6, has been troubled by a calf injury after recovering from hamstring tendonitis mid-season. 

Assistant coach Dean Solomon said Hunt's determined attitude would see him overcome his latest setback. 

''No doubt those calves have restrained him a fair bit of late but he has done a lot of recovery and rehab and he is now in a spot where he can play on the weekend,'' Solomon said.

Michael Rischitelli and Matthew Warnock will also make their returns from injury through the club's reserves in the NEAFL competition on Saturday.

Rischitelli hasn't played since injuring his elbow in round 12, while Warnock has battled a broken forearm and achilles injury since round 4.

NOW I HAVE A HAPPY POST OMG

Matthew Warnock.

Now I may have mentioned once or twice that I am not the biggest Warnock fan. But he did terrific tonight! Keeping Jono Brown quiet, making him drop marks.. absolutely perfect ha. I would say had he played just a little harder in that last quarter, he would have won the Ashcroft Medal. Keeping a superstar quiet like that requires a top effort.  I became a Warnock fan today. I know it's hard with our young group but he needs to fill the shoes of Nathan Bock. He did tonight. He needs to do it every week.

Black armbands were worn by Suns players tonight

One in memory of Matt Barclay, the 14 year old who drowned during a life-saving championship at Kurrawa Beach. The other in memory of Jim Stynes, true inspiration and champion of the game.

Gold Coast vs Melbourne

SUNS: 4.2.26 DEES: 3.5.23 

Gold Coast didn't necessarily have a slow start to the game, but the scoreboard suggested otherwise. Scoring opportunity was minimal at first, but once they put their heads down and focused, they began to kick some goals. New SUNS recruit Matthew Warnock (formerly playing with Melbourne) was the target of some jumper punches, but nothing too serious. He shapes our defence nicely, and will accustom to the new team after some game time. Stand out performer of the game would be Steven May. He found the 1%ers and put in extra effort to spoil what should have been easy marks. He has improved since last year and he is an exciting defence prospect for 2012.
