The eldest of the two glanced over at their partner. Quiet for a moment as they processed before a smile appeared on their face.
“I agree. We just need to find a good omega.”
“We have a wide variety within our company, I’m sure we can find one that suits us.”
“What are you thinking? A big company party to celebrate our recent success?”
“The reason is irrelevant as long as we gather everyone. Besides, who doesn’t like free drinks and food. I’ll have Yeosang get you a list of all the omegas at our company.”
The next morning a company wide email went out to invite everyone to a celebratory event. The CEOs wanted to reward their employees with a nice evening out, and hoped everyone would stop by. The atmosphere was certainly festive and all those in attendance seemed to be enjoying themselves. From above Seonghwa and Hongjoong watched it all, hunting for their prey. Seonghwa had his list on the tablet in hand, checking off names as he got a better look at his potential targets. There were a few interactions here and there but by the end of the night every name seemed to be crossed out.
“No one of interest?”
“The omegas here seem rather dull.”
“Well, I suppose we can look at our overseas branches before venturing elsewhere.” Hongjoong took the tablet from Seonghwa, looking over the list. “What about this one? It seems we haven’t crossed paths with them yet.”
Seonghwa glanced over. “I haven’t seen that omega at all.”
“Hm… Yunho, come here.”
When Yunho heard his name called he rushed over to greet the CEOs. He hadn’t had a chance to thank them for hosting such an event, but before he could say anything a tablet was placed in his hand, and Hongjoong was pointing at a profile picture of one of the employees from his department.
“I don’t see this person in attendance.”
“Ah, yes, they had to decline the invitation. They are quite sensitive to large crowds. I apologize on their behalf and ask for your understanding.”
“Hm, very well.”
Once gone Hongjoong returned the tablet to Seonghwa. They still had one more omega to look at. It just wouldn’t be tonight.
“I’ll have them stop by the office tomorrow morning.”
“With what excuse?”
“We’ll come up with something.”

You had a little routine when getting to work to help you brighten up your mood. A morning boba was a must along with a delicious pastry. It was an enjoyable breakfast and a small benefit to having a good job. When you got to the office you greeted your coworkers, getting to your desk and preparing for the day. Although you had barely logged in when the head of your department came over to see you.
“Good morning, Yunho, how are you today?”
“Wonderful. Are you just getting in?”
“Yup, did you need something?”
“Not right now, but I wanted to tell you the boss wanted to see you in their office.”
“The boss?”
“You know, the CEOs.”
“What!? Why?”
“I’m not sure, but they expect to see you this morning. You know where to go right?”
“Uh… yeah… yeah, I do…”
“Good. You should go see what they want before you get started on your work, okay?”
“Okay…”
“Alright. Good luck.”
“… huh…”
You really had no idea why the boss, technically bosses, of this company wanted with you. There wasn’t anything special about you, your title was an average office worker. Once the shock of the news wore off you managed to get up from your desk and head to the elevator. You were kinda moving on autopilot, tryna figure out why the owners of this company wanted to see you. Then it hit you. The big party yesterday that you couldn’t attend, but there was no way they would be upset over something like that, let alone know you weren’t there. You didn’t even bother speaking to any of your coworkers about this, just going up to the main office to see what this was all about. Maybe you were over thinking and this was a good thing, but that was way too hard to believe.
When you arrived the floor was rather empty and eerily quiet. You recalled being up here maybe once or twice before and usually for any other reason besides speaking to the boss. The office up here was a bit weird though. You weren’t sure if anyone else worked up here given the desks seemed empty, especially the one right outside the boss’ office. That was the other weird part. There were two boss’ and thus two doors, but they both led into the same room. Someone had told you before the whole point was to make it easier on some guests as they usually come to speak to one rather than the other, but you get both in the end, for the most part. You had no idea which door was which so you just picked one and knocked. When you heard a voice tell you to enter you froze up for a second before composing yourself and stepping inside.
“Good morning, sirs… you wanted to see me?”
“Yes, please have a seat.”
It was way more jarring being in the room. Either side of the room seemed identical with bookshelves along the wall, a desk towards the back in front of the windows, at the middle was a table with some sofas set up in a symmetrical way. This almost made you nauseous, but you kept your focus, walking over to have a seat. You needed to remain calm or else your nerves would be obvious. The two gentlemen soon joined you, seeming way more relaxed than you. They gave you no hints as to why you were here, and somehow you figured it was better to take the initiative. Yet you stumbled through your words.
“Uh… if this is about yesterday-”
“No, no, no, nothing like that. We wanted to inform you that we are planning to fill our secretary position. We noticed you had experience on your resume and wanted to inform you that you’re being considered for the position. If that’s no issue of course.”
“Uh, no, not at all. Thank you for your consideration.”
“You should hear from us by the end of the week.”
“Alright, thank you.”
You hesitantly got up and bowed, making your way out of the office. It wasn’t until you were in the elevator that your legs gave out. You caught yourself on the railing, managing the strength to stand back up. That wasn’t as bad as you imagined, but it would certainly be on your mind all day.

“So, what do you think?”
Seonghwa didn’t answer right away, instead moving over to where you had been sitting moments ago. He took a moment to breathe in the lingering scent.
“It’s faint, she must be on some strong suppressants, but I like it.”
“She seems very docile and timid, meaning she’s breakable.”
“Very.”

A few days later you got to work to find a box at your desk, panic immediately began to overtake you when your boss came over. He congratulated you on your promotion and told you that you’d be starting in your new position today. It was best to pack up your things and get going. For a moment you were confused until you remembered that secretary position. You didn’t actually think you would get it, surely there were more qualified candidates, but here you were. Once you processed everything you packed up your personal items and cleaned up your desk properly. You handed over important paper work and said goodbye to your coworkers. Some though you were quitting, but you told them you had been promoted. Everyone wished you well and then you were on your way.
It was weird to be back on the top floor, but you were going to have to get used to this going forward. When you had been here before, you were told the desk in front of the main office was the one for the secretary. You expected someone to be there waiting for you, but the area seemed empty. You went over to set down your box of stuff, thinking you probably had to knock to let your new boss know you were there. Although before you had a chance someone called your name. The gentleman introduced themselves as Kang Yeosang, explaining that they were the one originally handling the duties you were going to take on. Or at least, those specific tasks were being delegated to you now. He helped you get set up, explaining how things worked. The phone on either side of the desk connected to one of the two bosses, and you would also need to be on top of their schedules.
The three monitors on your desk also meant you were supposed to look over their emails. You’d have access to both, one on the monitor to your left, and the other on your right. The middle monitor was for usual work. Of course they’d also call or email you when they needed something, so you had to be prepared to take on any task. It sounded all like your typical secretary duties, so nothing was that new to you. The only thing you needed to get used to was the set up. Yeosang assured you that you weren’t expected to instantly be good at your job, and to not be afraid to ask questions. He had already sent you an email with his number so you could reach him whenever you needed to. With that done he took you on a small tour of the floor.
Besides first appearances, there were cubicles and a small office set up. Yeosang didn’t really explain what those that worked there did, but it wasn’t important. You got to know where the common area was, as well as the break room. It did kinda suck that you would be alone for the most part, and you were the first person to greet whoever came to this floor. Still, that was all expected, it would probably just take some time to get used to. Yeosang brought you back to your desk, letting you know there was a help button under your desk in case anything bad happened. The building had high security, and only authorized personnel were allowed, but you never knew what might happen. You thanked Yeosang for everything and he left you to unpack.
You cleaned up your new desk and organized your things. The silence was certainly a bit unnerving, but it would all become normal to you in time. As you adjusted to the new position you got to know more about the CEOs of the company, Hongjoong and Seonghwa. They certainly worked well together, so you couldn’t imagine how things got if there was ever an issue. Either one managed different things, but it seemed like the other was always in the loop. You rarely talked to them in person, and only a few words were ever exchanged over the phone. Most of your communication was via email, and they’d always let you know if guests would be by that day or if they were expecting a phone call or needed to be on do not disturb for a few hours. It wasn’t as difficult as you first imagined.
“What’s this?”
You were on suppressants, and you had to take your pills daily. Yet on this particular day Hongjoong was around to witness you grab your pill bottle. He caught your wrist and took the bottle from your hand, examining it and questioning you. It wasn’t anything to be embarrassed about really, but you still felt shy.
“… those are my suppressants…”
“Right, you’re an omega. I suppose the company health insurance covers these?”
“Yes, and I’m very grateful for that.”
“Good to hear. Here you are.” Hongjoong handed you back the bottle. “I’d like some coffee from this shop down the street. I’ll send you a message in a bit with my order and Seonghwa’s.”
“Yes, sir.”
“You’ll need this.” Hongjoong handed you his card. “Get yourself something too.”
“Okay, thank you, sir.”
This was certainly a first for you. Well, not actually, going on coffee runs weren’t uncommon but this was the first time you had been asked to do such a thing. It was also the first time you talked to either boss for more than three words. You tried not to freak yourself out, this was part of the job after all. You took your pills and moments later got that coffee order. You wrote it down and then sent Yeosang a quick message that you’d be stepping away for a moment and to keep an eye on the front desk. It was actually kinda nice to step out of the office for a moment and get so fresh air. Thankfully their coffee orders weren’t that complicated and you didn’t get anything for yourself cause that still felt wrong even if you were told it was okay.
It wasn’t until you got back to the office that you realized what would happen next. You were gonna have to go into their office and deliver the coffee yourself. Outside that initial meeting where they told you about the possible promotion, you hadn’t been in their office. You were nervous to go back in, but you were gonna have to enter either way. Before knocking you double checked to make sure neither one of them was busy then made your entrance. You chose to knock on Hongjoong’s door, since he was the one who originally made the request. When he told you to enter you did so, offering a smile and trying to keep professional. You set down his coffee on his desk, and returned his card, then did the same with Seonghwa. You told them to enjoy, getting a small thanks from both, and then stepping out.
After that they had you do coffee or lunch runs more often. It kinda felt like that first one was a test to see if you could handle such tasks. You knew it wasn’t everyone’s favorite, and it wasn’t something a secretary always did. For you it wasn’t a problem. If anything it was a welcome change to routine. Although as the days went by you started feeling a bit sick. There were a few dizzy spells here and there, you’d find yourself zoning out for a moment until something caught your attention. You weren’t sure what was wrong with you but it didn’t seem that serious. That is until you found yourself in their office on one occasion. Hongjoong needed you to deliver some documents to a client nearby. You were waiting for him to gather the paperwork and write down directions for you when you started to feel a bit dizzy.
You held yourself together, but that’s when you realized what the problem might be. It was only then, standing in the office for longer than usual, did you actually pick up on their scents. With your suppressants you shouldn’t be able to do that, yet the scents of two powerful alphas were a bit overwhelming. You gave nothing away and were given the documents you needed to deliver. Once outside their office you felt better, and when you left the building and got fresh air you were completely fine. You never had a problem with your suppressants before, so you didn’t know what this meant. Maybe you just needed a stronger dose. You weren’t used to being around alphas, let alone such powerful ones, so that could be the answer.
“Y/n, let’s go.”
“Hm? Where are we going?”
“Seonghwa and I have a doctors appointment today.”
“Oh, and you want me to come with?”
“Who’s gonna answer our phones while we’re being examined.”
“Ah, right, of course.”
Since you had been at a desk all this time you weren’t used to answering their personal phones. Of course for such occasions it was necessary. You guess they never really took personal days. You’d be riding with them in their personal car which felt a bit intimidating. Given your current situation it was probably best not to be in such small closed environments with them, but you couldn’t really deny this without cause, and you rather not talk about your health. The trip was quiet, and when you arrived at the doctors office things moved forward smoothly. The two gentlemen handed you their phones and their coats, and you waited outside their examination room. For starters you needed to put the coats off to the side cause the scents were a little too strong and now was not the time to have a problem.
Besides a regular check-up they were doing extra tests so it seemed like this might be a whole day endeavor. You didn’t mind. Their phones only rang a handful of times, and you explained that the two were preoccupied and that sending an email would be best. You also took note of a few things to remind yourself and about things you should tell the other two once you had a chance. Of course you found ways to keep yourself busy. Around noon you asked if either one wanted you to get them some food from the cafeteria, but due to the tests it was best not to eat, so they declined. If anything, before you went off to get yourself something Hongjoong stepped out to stop you. At first you thought something was wrong, or maybe he had changed his mind, but what he wanted was something entirely different.
“You know, I’ll be done with my check-up in a bit, but Seonghwa still has a few things to do. Since you’re here, why don’t you get your own annual check-up done.”
“Oh no, that’s alright. I can schedule my own doctor’s visit when I’m not on the clock.”
“It’s no problem. You know the company insurance covers everything, and I can keep an eye on my own phone and Seonghwa’s once I’m done.”
“Uh…”
“We won’t leave without you if that’s a concern. I do insist you make the most of your visit today.”
“I… I suppose…”
“Excellent. I’ll let the nurse know to prepare a room for you.”
“Ah, thank you.”
You didn’t plan on seeing the doctor today, but Hongjoong made a compelling argument. You were already here, and your insurance would cover this completely. Not to mention being here with the CEOs, you’d certainly get the best treatment. Besides, you were fighting boredom here so you might as well be productive. A nurse came by to collect you a while later and you went through the proper procedurals. There were a few extra things thrown in but overall the doctor let you know you were in good condition. You wanted to ask about your suppressants and recent symptoms, but it would be best to talk about that with your primary physician. Not to mention, according to your recent tests, you were doing well, so maybe it was all just some minor illness.
By the time you returned to the office it was pretty late in the afternoon. The working day wasn’t over, but you were allowed to go home early. It was nice to get some rest after a long day. Although when you got back to the office you realized your symptoms were actually getting worse. It wasn’t some kind of illness though, that finally became clear. As Hongjoong made it to the office he asked you to follow him. You did so until he made it to his desk and began to take off his jacket. You quickly realized what he was doing and took his jacket, intending to hang it up for him behind his desk, but he told you to wait a moment. He grabbed his card from his wallet, telling you he wanted coffee from his usual place. You took it and bowed, putting his jacket on the coat rack and stepping out.
At first you thought you were fine but you began to feel really hot and light headed. You rushed over to the restroom, trying to figure out what’s wrong. You splashed water in your face and for a moment you were alright. That’s when you realized what was wrong. Hongjoong’s scent was all over your clothes from holding his jacket too long. You quickly took off your shirt and placed it on the other end of the sink. You got some towels and ran them under water so you could use them to wipe off the scent from your shirt. This shouldn’t be happening to you, yet it was. Your suppressants weren’t working anymore, so you needed to make an appointment immediately. So far you had gotten lucky, but who knows what might happen in the future. While trying to wash your shirt you heard the door open and yelled, trying to cover yourself with your damp shirt.
“Woah, take it easy, it’s just me.” Yeosang held his hands up. “What are you doing? Are you okay?”
“Me? This is the omega restroom!”
“I know.”
“Get out!”
“I guess you’re on strong suppressants.”
“… oh… sorry, I-”
“It’s fine. We don’t really advertise and with suppressants we’re all equal more or less. Now why are you half naked in the bathroom? Are you okay?”
“Yeah, I just needed to clean my shirt.”
“Did you spill something on yourself? Let me see.”
Before you could answer Yeosang took your shirt from you, examining it, but there was nothing wrong with it. You kept your hands over your chest, trying to hide as much as you could.
“I don’t see a stain…”
“That… uh… that’s not the problem…”
“Huh?”
You sighed. “My suppressants aren’t working.”
“What do you mean?”
It was a bit embarrassing to say, but you explained to Yeosang how you had been picking up on Hongjoong and Seonghwa’s scent despite being on suppressants. They were powerful alphas so you figured you just needed a stronger dose, but their scents had certainly been affecting you, and it’s only gotten worse.
“Oh, well that’s interesting.”
“What do you mean?”
“You’re on suppressants yet you’re still picking up on their scents, you know what that means, don’t you?”
“…uh… no, I don’t…”
“Oh, sweetie, congratulations.”
“What are you talking about?”
“If you can pick up on their scents, even while on suppressants, that’s a sign that they’re your mate.”
“What? No… no, but it’s both of them, not just one.”
“An omega can have more than one mate.”
“Yeosang, you’re talking crazy. There’s no way those two are my mates.”
“That’s really the only explanation.”
“I… that’s just ridiculous.”
“Not impossible.”
“No, no, it’s just not true.” You got your shirt back on. “I just need to go to the doctor.”
Your shirt was a bit wet, but it was fine now. You still thought Yeosang’s words were ridiculous but for now you had to focus on work. You went out for the coffee run, delivering it as usual and not lingering in their office for too long. Afterwards you set a doctor’s appointment needing to get yourself checked out properly. It was set for the weekend and you managed to make it until then without any other incident. When you saw your doctor you went through things as normal and explained your current situation. According to your charts everything seemed fine, so you got the worst answer possible.
“Usually, when an omega on suppressants picks up on a scent, it means that person is their mate.”
“You’ve got to be kidding me.”
“I understand it might be hard to believe, but that is usually the case.”
“Can you just increase my dosage, I’m sure that will solve the problem.”
“That wouldn’t really be good for your health.”
“If I can keep my job I’d argue otherwise.”
“I’ll set up another appointment for you. Before you’re given a higher dosage you need another examination.”
“Fine. The sooner the better.”
The next doctor appointment was a week out, and you figured you’d be alright until then. You just needed to avoid being in your bosses’ office for too long, and not get too close to them. Although it was easier said than done.
♥♥♥♥♥
Progress had been slow for Seonghwa, but Hongjoong insisted he be patient. Everything was working out in their favor thus far, they just needed to play their cards right. Still, as far as he saw there had been no change.
“Y/n, follow me.”
As Seonghwa made it to the office he asked for your assistant. He had seen Hongjoong do it before and asked about it. He was told it was a good idea to slowly get the omega used to their scent. He slid his jacket off and you took it. Seonghwa noticed some uneasiness in your scent, but he didn’t pay much attention.
“Y/n, I need you to run an errand for me.” Seonghwa began. “I have a bunch of meetings today and-”
Hongjoong started laughing all of a sudden and Seonghwa threw a glare his way. He didn’t understand the rude interruption but Hongjoong just shook his head and kept laughing.
“What is so funny!?”
“Look.”
Hongjoong pointed over to you and Seonghwa finally understood what he was talking about. You were standing in the same spot, jacket in your arms, eyes a bit glassy and staring off into space. Now Seonghwa understood, a smirk appearing on his face. Now he was seeing progress. He gently guided you over to the sofa, having you sit down. He took the jacket in your hands and draped it over your shoulders. That look on your face was quite adorable, he admired it for a moment, petting your head softly. He had heard about this before, how cute an omega could get when overwhelmed by an alpha’s scent. It was certainly a sight to see, but it was best to return to his own work. Whenever this passed you’d certainly be startled.
♥♥♥♥♥
When Seonghwa asked you to follow him you were already nervous, but you kept yourself together. Then he started talking about some errand and you were trying to listen but your head was spinning. You noticed the world around you was starting to fade and you feared passing out. The last place you should do that is in your boss’ office. Yet you couldn’t do anything about it and your world became black. You thought you’d wake up in a hospital, but instead you were in the same place. Your vision slowly faded in, and it took a moment for your senses to recover. You heard some typing, and soon realized you were sitting in your bosses’ office. Then you felt something on you, seeing you had Seonghwa’s jacket on. You quickly jumped to your feet, dropping the jacket.
The two others had been working nonchalantly this whole time, but when you suddenly came to life their attention shifted to you. They both offered you a smile, but you were already bowing and apologizing for your behavior. You were still processing exactly what had happened, but before they could say anything you ran out of the office, going to the restroom to clean your shirt again. You felt so embarrassed your face was surely burning. Now that you had time to think you understood what had happened. Seonghwa’s scent had gotten to you and you completely blacked out. The last thing you remembered was standing and listening to Seonghwa, then you were on the sofa with his jacket on. You had no idea how you could face them again, and honestly you didn’t think you could.
Then you grew still. If you had done anything pathetic in that time, maybe they wouldn’t tell you to save your dignity, but not knowing was driving you crazy too. You couldn’t even bring yourself to ask either. You fell to the floor, hugging your knees to your chest. No matter how you looked at it, you knew you couldn’t keep doing this. It would likely only get worse, and there was no guarantee that a stronger suppressant would help. You took a moment to really think things over, but by the end of the day you had made up your mind. It was gonna suck, and you’d be in a tight spot for a while, but it was better than staying in your current situation. So the next morning you walked into your bosses’ office and set down your resignation letter on either of their desks.
“What is this?” Hongjoong asked.
“Thank you for everything, I-”
“No.”
“Hm?”
“I’m not accepting this resignation. Not without a valid reason.”
“I… I’m switching careers so-”
“Bullshit.” Seonghwa snapped. “I want a real reason.”
“…”
“Now.”
“I… I… my suppressants aren’t working…” You admitted. “I’ve been taking them but still… your scents… I’ve gone to a doctor to increase the dosage… but I don’t think that will help… so it’s best I leave before things get worse…”
“If you’re on suppressants but still picking up our scents, you know what that means, right?”
“Ah… I’ve heard, but that’s ridiculous.”
“How come?”
“I… you both are incredibly powerful alphas… and high class… any omega would likely be affected… it’s only natural really… so I recommend a beta secretary in the future… I’ll be going now, thank you again for everything.”
You bowed and tried to leave but as you got to the door Seonghwa placed a hand over it, keeping you from opening it. You immediately took a step back, meeting his gaze for a moment before averting your eyes.
“What’s so wrong about us? We’re clearly your mates.”
“… no… no, something is just wrong with me… I’m sorry…”
“You don’t need to apologize.” Hongjoong remarked, approaching from behind you. “I understand we’re scary all on our own but you don’t need to be afraid.”
“… please just let me go… I won’t bother you over this…”
“We’ve known about our special relationship for a while now.” Seonghwa added. “We just didn’t say anything cause we didn’t think you’d believe it, but we’re all on the same page now. No need to hide it anymore.”
“… that… that’s not true… it’s not possible…”
“It’s very true, and I don’t appreciate this mentality from you. I thought an omega would be overjoyed to find her mates.”
“I… I need… to think… I…”
“What is there to think about?”
“I…”
There was another door, you should have tried it instead of standing around since Hongjoong was now blocking your way. The two had you trapped in their office right now. You really just wanted a moment to yourself, to clear your head and process, but they didn’t seem to have any intentions of letting you leave. This all felt more like a bad dream than anything else. They weren’t listening to your little please and you weren’t sure what they wanted with you right now. It was the middle of the work day, but that didn’t seem to bother them at all. Hongjoong suddenly pulled you close, and you knew why. You tried to pull yourself free, but he was a lot stronger than you.
“Maybe we should talk this out somewhere else. A conversation like this is rather… intimate.”
“… no… no I’m fine…”
“I can tell otherwise. Shall we?”
Before you knew you were being led out of the office. You stumbled in your steps as you walked with them. Seonghwa grabbed your things and next thing you knew you were in the elevator with the two. The last thing you needed was to be in an enclosed space with them. Things started to blur, and you struggled a bit to stay on your feet. Their scent seemed stronger, like they were trying to mess with you on purpose. It only got worse though. When the elevator doors opened you found yourself in the parking garage. You half expected a vehicle to pull up, but instead you were brought over to their car. Hongjoong handed you over to Seonghwa, the two of you getting in the back seat. You tried to fight back, to get free and run, but you were easily shoved inside the car.
When Seonghwa reached over to put your seatbelt on you his scent made you feel so dizzy. Now that you were so close, you were really starting to pick up on his scent and you couldn’t deny how nice it was. His scent reminded you of a cozy fire in the winter and it made you feel so warm. Your vision got blurry, you couldn’t focus clearly and you had no idea where you were going. Time didn’t have much meaning, so you had no idea how long you had been on the road before the car came to a stop. Seonghwa helped you out and you nearly fell to the floor, but he kept you on your feet. You noticed a big house before you, and from what you could see of your surroundings, trying to run now would get you nowhere. You were helped inside, and when the door closed you felt nervous.
“… what… where am I…?”
“Home.” Hongjoong stated. “Welcome.”
“… home…? This isn’t…”
“We’re here to talk after all.”
Before you knew it Seonghwa had you sit on a couch, placing his coat on your shoulders. You tried to take it off but he took your hands in his.
“How long have you known we’re your mates?”
“… you’re not…”
“There’s no need to deny it.” Hongjoong sat at your other side. “I guess you feel unworthy of us. Why is that?”
“It just… it doesn’t make sense…”
“You were bound to find your mate eventually, so what’s the problem?”
“… both of you… there’s no way you’re my mates…”
“You keep saying that, but the proof is right in front of you.” Seonghwa remarked. “Your body knows the truth, so your mind just needs to catch up.”
Before you could refute his words Seonghwa had his lips pressed against yours. His kiss was deep and needy, catching you completely off guard. You didn’t lean into it, but it was certainly affecting you. When he pulled back you felt a bit disoriented, falling back into Hongjoong’s arms. Now his scent was getting all over you. The calm scent of the sea soothing your racing heart. At this point it was hard not to think that perhaps you were overreacting to this whole thing. The goal was ultimately to find a mate, you just so happen to have two. Maybe it was just the fact you never imagined this was how it would all go down that made you so reluctant. Without really meaning to you let out a content whine, snuggling up to Hongjoong.
“There we go, you’re finally listening to your body.”
“… wait…!”
Those words snapped you out of it, realizing you were starting to slip. Even if you were starting to accept this, it wouldn’t be good to just dive in head first. When you tried to move away Seonghwa crawled forward, pinning you between the two. You placed your hands on his chest, but he had no intention of moving. Not to mention Hongjoong now had his arms around your waist.
“We’ve been waiting a long time for this, I’d rather not wait anymore.”
Seonghwa silenced you with another deep kiss, his touch and scent making you dizzy. Being trapped between the two like this, it was practically over for you and you knew it. Even if you thought to resist, to still go over things logically, your resolve was waning. You eventually kissed back, your own actions slowly turning to desperation. It was in your nature to submit, and if you were no longer able to fight then you’d fall in completely. Seonghwa responded in kind, taking your head in his hands and kissing you until you were both out of breath. When he pulled away you were panting, already out of it.
“Let’s go somewhere more comfortable.”
Hongjoong properly carried you in his arms bridal style, taking you upstairs to what you assumed was their bedroom. You were playfully tossed onto the giant bed, and you were vaguely aware that it was bigger than a king size. Seonghwa was already getting out of his jacket and unbuttoning his shirt, climbing on the bed and getting on top of you. He dove in for another kiss, his lips then trailing down to give attention to all of you. By then your clothes were starting to bother you, but you were struggling to get them off. The others noticed, finding you pathetic and cute and helping you out. For the moment you were left in your bra and panties, Hongjoong admiring you with a predatory gaze.
“You’re quite lovely, aren’t you?”
“…”
“Don’t be shy, we’re going to take very good care of you.”
Seonghwa was all over you, just as naked as you, peppering every inch of your flesh with needy kisses. You felt a heat underneath your skin, and every little kiss was a moment of relief. There was no thought of resistance left, so you let the two do as they pleased. Hands explored your body, eventually getting rid of the last bits of clothing you had on you. This was a first for you, and your reactions revealed that to them. It seemed to excite them more, knowing they were going to be your first everything and break you in. At first Hongjoong merely watched as Seonghwa ravished you, enjoying the show. His lover getting to indulge with such a submissive pet. When it was just the two of them they had their own fun, but this was new to them too.
You were so squirmy and loud, not leaving much to the imagination. Your own scent was letting them know that you were enjoying yourself. At this point you were completely at their mercy and would do anything for their affection. There wasn’t any hesitation or shyness left, just an instinctual need to please the alphas before you. Although you did get a bit nervous when Seonghwa pushed your legs apart. You tried to close them instinctively but Seonghwa growled, telling you to be good. You nodded slowly, letting your body relax under his touch. Soon his lips were on your skin again, distracting you as a hand traveled between your legs. His warm fingers rubbed against your folds, circling around your clit. You felt your bundle of nerves heating up down there, and then Seonghwa took the next step.
You wrapped your arms around Seonghwa as you felt him push a finger inside you. It was a welcomed intrusion, something you had never been bold enough to do on your own. There was some initial discomfort, clearly lacking any experience, but Seonghwa seemed to know what he was doing. He was gentle in his exploration, giving you a heads up before adding another digit. Your mouth hung open as your eyes rolled to the back of your head, feeling an oddly nice sensation. Then it only got better as Seonghwa found your sweet spot, aiming for it every time. You were such a whining mess beneath Seonghwa, letting him have fun control. When he added another finger you got a bit tense. Hongjoong told you to relax, placing upside down kisses on your face. He smelled so sweet, making you melt into his touch. It was probably both their pheromones mixing and getting to you that were making you so obedient, but you didn’t care.
Once Seonghwa felt he had done enough prep he got you to look at him through foggy vision. He asked if you were ready to take him and you nodded eagerly. His fingers felt amazing, so you could only drool at the thought of what his length actually felt like. He praised your eagerness, and moments later you felt something much bigger rubbing against your folds. Seonghwa said you looked so beautiful under him, and you were about to become even more gorgeous. He was slow and gentle with you, hands on your hips and guiding himself inside. Your mouth hung open, feeling that strength and gripping the sheets tightly. Hongjoong laughed at the scene, whispering in your ear how you were being such a good girl. He took one of your hands in his own, letting you squeeze it tight as Seonghwa spread you open.
“Such a good omega, taking your alpha so well.”
“Hm.”
You couldn’t believe how big Seonghwa was, getting him all up inside you. He stayed still for a moment, letting you feel everything. Then Hongjoong decided to tease, reaching between your legs and playing with your clit. Reflexively you began squeezing Seonghwa, pretty moans falling from his mouth. Hongjoong enjoyed this very much, encouraging Seonghwa to move and make you feel even better. To him it felt like you didn’t want to let go, but it was motivation to give in. He tried to keep his composure, but you felt so good his grip on your hips got tighter and he gave into his own animalistic instincts.
You cried out Seonghwa’s name, reaching for him. He intertwined his fingers with yours, your tight grip making him smile. Hongjoong was still watching it all with glee, but he wasn’t going to be left out. He pulled your hands away from Seonghwa, lifting you up and letting you rest between his legs. Your back was on his chest, and Hongjoong’s hands reached up to massage your breasts. His touch was a nice addition, and after a moment one of his hands went between your legs once more. You whined and tried to get him to stop, not wanting the overstimulation, but Hongjoong’s growl in your ear made you freeze up. A small little reminder that you were currently their play thing and at their mercy. So it wasn’t long before you felt a strong heat between your legs, something inside tightening and needing release.
Hongjoong held you tightly as you reached climax, loving the sensation of your desperate squirming. You were panting and shaking, Seonghwa still moving to drag this out of you, loving how tight you got. Afterwards you were still trembling and extra sensitive, but Seonghwa didn’t let up as he was chasing his own high. You were whimpering, practically on the verge of tears as you were being used like a toy. Any attempt at words just came out inaudible, and when Hongjoong started peppering you with kisses it just felt so nice. Seonghwa’s hot breath was right in your face too, his pretty face looking ethereal. You wanted to kiss him, and he noticed, pressing his lips to yours as he reached climax, his moans basically for you. Although after a moment Hongjoong pulled him away, stealing a kiss from him too.
“What a good boy.” Hongjoong praised. “You like your omega?”
“Hm.”
“Then let me have a taste now.”
“… wanna… wanna…”
“I know, but it’s my turn now, isn’t it? Be a good boy.”
Hongjoong pet Seonghwa’s head softly, getting him to move away from you. Even with something warm and sticky between your legs, when Seonghwa was gone you felt a bit cold, but it hurt to close your legs. Hongjoong was still praising Seonghwa, the two switching places. You were now resting in Seonghwa’s arms as he placed lazy kisses on your face and neck. He nibbled gently, latching onto certain areas and leaving his mark.
“You two are so lovely.” Hongjoong commented. “Now let me see what my pretty Hwa did to our omega.”
Hongjoong dipped his fingers into the mess between your legs, making you whine. You were still aching, but he didn’t care. He praised you for how well you had done, and that this was only the beginning. He worked you over with his fingers, making sure you were ready for round two. While he did that Seonghwa’s hands were caressing your body, pinching and teasing to get a reaction out of you. By then you had a bit of a glow on your skin, barely able to catch your breath. Then you felt Hongjoong move his fingers away, knowing what came next. Seonghwa grabbed your arms, making sure you didn’t get in the way. You were still overstimulated and aching, but you didn’t get to refuse the other alpha now.
Hongjoong’s hands ghosted over your body before latching onto your hips, digging into the bruises Seonghwa had surely left. He praised you for doing so well, and then you felt something new between your folds. You desperately grabbed Seonghwa as you felt Hongjoong stretching you open. It sounded so filthy as you felt him pushing into you, mixing into the mess you already had down there. He certainly kept it slow and rocked your body at a gentle pace. You didn’t know if this was better or worse than Seonghwa’s animalistic nature. Still, you gave in and let yourself feel everything, moaning and melting into the sensations overwhelming you. Your vision was already a blur but you were having a good time, and you certainly felt safe. Although this time around there was this ache with the heat. You were already pushed to your third orgasm with no real break in between them.
They likely knew, but that wasn’t gonna make them go easy on you. Instead Hongjoong pushed you over the edge. Tears slid down your cheeks, so overwhelmed and unable to rest. It burned in a good way though, and you just held on for the ride. You wanted to grab Hongjoong, to hold him close, but Seonghwa denied you, wanting to feel your body tremble in his embrace. Of course Hongjoong kept going until he achieved his own high, using you as nothing more than a means to an end. Although he stayed put afterwards, resting his head against your chest. Praise spilled from his mouth, something you could barely pick up on. Then you felt something else. Hongjoong had remained inside, not moving, but something was happening. Even in your hazy mind you understood what was happening, immediately squirming.
“Easy, easy now, be a good omega and take what you’re given.” Hongjoong pet your head softly. “Don’t you want pups?”
“… I…”
“Sh, you’re in good hands and you know it.”
You weren’t sure what the answer to that question was, but your body gave a response on its own. Seonghwa started to whine and complain too, having wanted to knot you first, but Hongjoong reminded him the night was far from over. He was right about that. It hurt so good to tease you with the knot, really feeling like you were going to break, but unable to do anything but bare it. When it came to this, you were both at the mercy of your instincts. Once Hongjoong calmed down Seonghwa insisted on getting his turn. He shoved the other away from you, peppering your burning skin with kisses. Before you knew it he was inside you again, that animalistic nature taking over.
From there things just became such a blur. Your vision would fade in and out, these rolling waves of glee constantly washing over you. This whole scenario was a first for you, and you were absolutely putty in their hands. You couldn’t tell how many orgasms you had, after the third everything blended together. It was more like you were stuck in a constant state of bliss. Not to mention they both desperately wanted to knot you, but Seonghwa was certainly more eager than his partner. You don’t know when things finally settled down, but you were too exhausted to keep your eyes open. You were barely conscious, feeling the aches in your body and knowing you’d feel it way more tomorrow.
Seonghwa took it upon himself to clean you up a bit before snuggling against you. A hand rested over your stomach, drawing lazy circles. There was no way you weren’t pregnant now, but if by some miracle that was the case, he didn’t mind breeding you again. You were fast asleep now, likely won’t be waking any time soon. Seonghwa was already planning what to do next. A warm bubble bath, dressing you in the softest clothes. There was no way he’d let you leave his sight now. He wasn’t even sure he wanted you as his secretary anymore. Your desk was far from him, and others would see you. He’d have to talk with Hongjoong about this, and also call a doctor to come examine you later.
“Seonghwa.”
“Hm?”
“Are you happy with our omega?”
“Of course. She’ll be a good mommy.”
“And what about you?”
“Hm?”
“Don’t you think you’ll be a good mommy too?”
“Of course.”
“I’m glad you agree.”
Hongjoong pulled Seonghwa away from you, getting on top of him and pinning him down. He was quick to press their lips together, savoring the taste. Soon his lips trailed down, a gentle and loving bite placed on Seonghwa’s shoulder. The boy hissed, surprised but not at all upset. It was rather cute.
“I see you still have energy.”
“Benefits of being an enigma. I have more power than you, and it’s doing wonders for me. Now it’s time to reap what I sowed.”
“Huh?”
“I said I wanted pups, Seonghwa.” Hongjoong reminded. “I wasn’t gonna stop at us breeding our new omega.”
“You’re not-”
“It’s your turn to be bred.”
“Hongjoong-”
Seonghwa tried to get the other one off. This was something to talk about, and not just spontaneously decided. Besides, Seonghwa wasn’t sure if he was joking or not. Although when he tried to get free Hongjoong growled and pinned his arms above his head with one hand.
“… hongjoong… are you being serious right now?”
“I’ve been waiting patiently. Do you think those long doctor visits were just routine? I’ve already been assured you’re ready to carry my pups.”
“You…” Seonghwa chuckled, glancing over at you. “Then what was the point of us getting an omega?”
“A gift. I didn’t want you to be all by yourself, so I figured we’d get an omega to keep you company.”
“And breeding her?”
“You’re still an alpha too, love. I know you have your own desire to breed, and this way we’re both satisfied. I even had them check our omega, she’s very healthy and fertile, as are you.” Hongjoong kissed Seonghwa deeply until they were both out of breath. “Perhaps I’m a little jealous that you get to be mommy and daddy.”
“Lucky me.”
“Now be my good little alpha and let me knot you.”
“Go on. Show me what you’ve been holding back.”
“You have no idea. We’re gonna have such lovely pups all together.”

It was nighttime in the Caribbean Sea, and the moonlight was especially luminescent tonight. Captain Hongjoong was left to navigate the ship during the night, as the crew’s regular navigator, Jongho, was currently ill with scurvy. Hongjoong looked out into the glimmering ocean, admiring how the moon blanketed the water with its glittering glow.
After several hours of navigating in the moonlight, Hongjoong heard a loud “thunk” sound but presumed it to be nothing, so he continued sailing straight. However, after a few minutes the pirate spotted a turquoise-ish glow coming from directly in front of the ship precisely below the bow. Taken aback, Hongjoong cautiously makes his way towards the source of the light, his hand clutching the hilt of his saber. He’d heard of pirates going missing in these areas due to sightings of “sirens,” but Hongjoong and his crew didn’t believe in such obscure ideas. Even if sirens did exist, they couldn’t bribe anyone on the crew, as they already had everything they wanted, a pirate’s life and people to share it with.
The closer Hongjoong got to the source, the more apparent it was to him that it wasn’t just a light; there was singing. It sang notes in high falsettos and others in a deep and full chest voice. The song felt as if it called to him and only him, as Hongjoong found himself wandering now less cautiously and now more curiously towards the light.
Reaching the bow of the ship, the pirate clutched his rapier a bit tighter now, still entranced by the song, but now more aware that he was still chasing an anomaly. Hongjoong looked over the edge of the ship to see that hanging onto the beak of the ship was a glowing figure, his hair was as white as seafoam, and his musculature was the kind he had only seen in books Yeosang carried about ancient Greek history. The figure looked up, his song stopped, and now Hongjoong could see upon his glowing forehead was a massive goose egg, purple in color, and from what Hongjoong could see, there appeared to be a good amount of blood as well. Continuing to examine the figure, Hongjoong looked down to see that it had not legs but an iridescent aquamarine tail. The legends had been true; it was a siren, and his ship had likely been the source of its injury.
Quickly, Hongjoong ran back to the main deck of the ship and opened up one of the freshwater barrels with a rusted crowbar and dragged it over to the bow, where the siren had now continued to sing. Now in longer, higher notes, the pirate could feel the pain in the siren’s song. Returning to the bow, he reached over to grab the siren by the forearm; it let out an unearthly shriek, it was both beautiful and piercing to the ears. “It’s okay,” Hongjoong reassured. “I’m here to help you. I hurt you, and I’m going to make it right.” The siren attempts to strain, but there appears to be no strength left in his body, as when he does, his body goes limp, head hanging low, and his other arm releasing his grip on the beak. Quickly, Hongjoong grabs the siren’s other arm and uses all of his strength to hoist him onto the ship. With a big pull he managed to get the siren onto the front deck; now seeing it being splayed out on the floor in all its length, it is truly magnificent. His head to the side, accentuating his facial bones, his sharp jaw, high cheekbones, and flatter nose. His broad pectoral muscles leading into defined abdominals with a dainty waist, Hongjoong had never even seen a lady with such a small waist. Not that he’d seen many women at all, aside from those at the docks. Finally, his tail, it was long, and the moonlight reflected its iridescence, the color becoming faint as the creature lost consciousness, bringing Hongjoong to the realization that he must put the siren in water quickly. Clumsily he picks up the creature with one arm on its stomach; feeling its abdominal muscles, feeling each toned spot. He puts his other arm on a middle spot on the siren’s gorgeous tail. “Woah,” Hongjoong breathes. He feels the siren’s scales; they feel fish-like, although they are much bigger, and they have less of a fishy odor, smelling more like the salt of the ocean or a fresh beach day. He carefully positions the siren so as to not cause him any more harm than he already has and places him in the barrel of water, a bit overflowing and splashing over the edges. He positions the siren’s arms over the barrel so that it isn’t submerged completely; this way Hongjoong will be able to see it once it regains consciousness. Hongjoong sat himself in a nearby crate, and waited, knowing that healing takes time.
Hongjoong looks up to see a familiar glow coming from the barrel; he races over to see the siren fluttering his eyes open. Eyes now fully open, the siren appears confused, but Hongjoong can only stare in admiration. He has never come face-to-face with such a beautiful creature. His eyes were round and bunny-like, appearing so innocent; they were a brown deeper than any rum could compare to. Looking to his lips as they were full and pursed, Hongjoong drew his attention back to his eyes, which were now furrowed. “Oh, I’m sorry, you must be very confused,” Hongjoong began. “I’m Captain Hongjoong of the Ateez Pirates, and I believe my ship hit you.” The siren continues to stare blankly when Hongjoong notices blood dripping down his forehead. “You’re still hurt; it looks like not all the legends are true.” Hongjoong says while rushing over to a crate full of medicinal supplies. Now the siren looks very confused. “Alright,” Hongjoong says, “If you want me to answer some questions, I’m at least going to need your name.” The siren darts his eyes to the side coyly, hiding behind his medium-length hair. “C’mon,” urges Hongjoong. “If you want my help, then I’m gonna need a name to call you by.” The siren stays silent. “Alright,” Hongjoong says. “Looks like I’ll have to give you one. How about Ddeongyo?” The siren shakes his head exaggeratedly. “Well then Ddeongyo, if you want a different name you’re gonna have to give me yours.” Hongjoong says teasingly. The siren tilts his head to the side, as if pondering the thought, then, in less than a whisper, proceeds to say, “My name is…” However, Hongjoong stops him in his tracks. “Sorry, you’re gonna need to speak up; I’ve got a pirate's ear,” he says while pretending to shake water out of his ears. The siren makes a face expressing annoyance, but it makes Hongjoong gleam with pride, “I said, My name is…” Yet again, Hongjoong stops him. “Sorry, can you start again? I wasn’t listening.” he says with a pout. Now the siren looks mad, but he looks beautiful. Hongjoong stares lovingly at the siren as he angrily yells, “My name is Park Seonghwa!” Even in his rage, the siren can’t help but sound beautiful. Hongjoong looks at the siren. “Very good,” he says, making his voice long and low.
Hongjoong reaches into the crate and grabs a rag. “May I?” He asks softly. Seonghwa nods as Hongjoong wet the rag with a dash of rum. “Now this is gonna sting a bit; try not to move too much. I mean, I know you don’t have much of a choice right now, but you get the idea.” Seonghwa rolls his eyes at Hongjoong’s comment and comes closer to the edge of the barrel. “Alright, you ready?” Hongjoong asks. “Yes,” Seonghwa whispers. Hongjoong presses the rag into Seonghwa’s forehead, and he feels as the siren winces. “I know, I’m sorry.” He says softly, trying to do anything to keep him calm. After a few moments, he feels Seonghwa relax and lean into the rag; the weight of his forehead giving Hongjoong an odd sense of comfort. “Okay, that should be enough; let’s see what we’re working with.” Hongjoong says, slowly removing the rag, feeling emptiness with Seonghwa’s removed weight. Hongjoong drops the rag onto the floor and kneels in front of the barrel. Bringing his hand slowly to Seonghwa’s forehead, Seonghwa grabs Hongjoong’s wrist reflexively, splashing a bit of water. “What are you doing?” the siren asks defensively. Hongjoong smirks. “Touchy are we?” Seonghwa is still holding tight to Hongjoong’s wrist, so Hongjoong continues, “I need to move your hair out of the way to see if you need stitches.” Hongjoong says calmly. Seonghwa slowly removes his grasp from Hongjoong’s wrist, allowing for him to move his white strands from his glowing skin. However, the pirate’s smile is no longer visible when he sees what is waiting for him.
What was beheld was not only a goose egg, but above was a long gash, about a fingernail deep from Hongjoong’s estimate. Seonghwa noticed the way the pirate’s face had changed from confident to worried, so he inquired, “What are stitches?” with a cool tone. “Well,” Hongjoong started, realizing the look on his face gave him away, quickly composing himself. “Sometimes you get cut, and sometimes you get cut real deep. Stitches are for the times you get cut real deep.” Hongjoong says. Pain hits the siren’s soft features; it hurts Hongjoong in a way that he can’t quite grasp. “But don’t worry, they’ll only hurt for a bit,” he lied. “I’ll do them myself; I’m not just the pirate captain. Lucky for you, I’m also the crew’s doctor.” He said, easing Seonghwa’s expression. “Alright,” Seonghwa said softly, “I’m ready.” Hongjoong provided a faint smile. “Perfect, I’ll go grab my things.”
Hongjoong returned with his materials to see Seonghwa tracing the barrel with long, delicate fingers. “Are you sure you want to do this?” Hongjoong asked, allowing for Seonghwa to know that he was fine to leave if he so chose. “Yes,” Seonghwa spoke in his ghoulish musical tone. Hongjoong knelt down to the barrel. “I’m gonna have to get very close to do this; just be ready,” the pirate spoke with calmness in his tone. Seonghwa nodded, and Hongjoong got prepped. Hongjoong pulled out a match, lighting it, which startled the siren. “Don’t worry, I’m not gonna light you on fire; this is for sterilization. It’ll keep you from getting sick from the stitches.” Seonghwa looked up at the pirate nervously, then to the fire, the glimmer of the flame dancing in his irises. It gave the siren an unearthly presence, like two elements that should never meet were now combining to form such a beautiful sight for the pirate. Again, Seonghwa nodded, and Hongjoong carefully brought the needle in his other hand to the flame, cautious as to not burn himself. “Isn’t it hot?” The siren pries. “A bit,” Hongjoong replied, blowing out the match, “but it’s not direct contact so it’s not that bad.” He answers honestly. Seonghwa watches curiously as the pirate threads a long piece of waxed linen through the small hole in the butt of the needle. “How many crew members do you have?” asks Seonghwa, with a child’s curiosity in his voice. “Chatty are we?” Hongjoong smirks. “I currently have six others aside from myself. I am the captain and doctor; Yunho is our gunner. He's always making sure we are stocked up on ammunition and teaches us how to use our weaponry. Yeosang is our historian; sometimes we land on islands with different cultures, languages, and historical architecture, and Yeosang helps us figure out our surroundings using his knowledge of history and language. San was a cabin boy but was promoted to carpenter when we saw his skills with wood. Now he regularly maintains the ship whenever we hit rocks or get into battles with the naval or other pirate ships. He even partakes in making his own wooden sculptures. Mingi is the lookout; he stands atop our beautiful baby’s nest and looks out into the distance, spotting islands, ships, or whatever else it is he finds up there. Meanwhile, Jongho, our navigator, is sick at the moment; he’s the one who should actually be out right now manning and guiding the ship in these late hours, then you’d probably be in better condition.” Hongjoong is now looking down at the needle. Seonghwa looks as well and says, “I am ready.”
Hongjoong scoots close to the barrel, his whole front feeling the splinters of the wooden planks. He looks once more at the gash resting upon the siren’s luminescent skin and asks, “I’m gonna ask you a final time, are you sure you want the stitches?” Looking up with his big, round eyes, Seonghwa whispers in a nervous tone, “Yes, please begin.”
The pirate grabs the siren by just between the crown of his head and the nape of his neck, using this as a support, and he feels the Seonghwa attempt to break free, but Hongjoong holds firm. “I need this as support, or I’m gonna end up stabbing you real hard.” Seonghwa’s movements come to a halt, and Hongjoong continues; he looks at his needle and takes a deep breath. “I want you to know, the first one is going to hurt the worst.” The siren remains silent. So Hongjoong continues; he lines the needle up with the gash and pierces through the siren’s skin, quickly creating the first stitch. Immediately, Seonghwa grabs onto what he can find, which happens to be the pirate’s loose, frilled sleeve. “I know, I know,” Hongjoong coos. “I’m sorry, I told you it would hurt a little.” He explained. “It’s okay,” Seonghwa whispered. “Please, finish the stitches.” Hongjoong could feel the pain in the siren’s voice. So he continued, lining up the needle for the second stitch; Seonghwa stayed latched onto the pirate’s sleeve. Hongjoong pierced the needle through both sides of the gash and completed the second stitch, though now, the siren had latched onto his forearm. “Are you still okay?” Hongjoong asked, mindful of the pain Seonghwa was in. “Yes,” the siren replied after a moment. “How much more?” The siren inquired in a wincing tone. “It should take about three more stitches and you’ll be good to go,” Hongjoong said, switching to a more confident tone. Hongjoong prepares, lining up the third stitch, as the siren asks “Are you afraid of me?” Quickly, Hongjoong performs the third stitch, and he feels the grip on his forearm tighten; it is comforting to him, and he is beginning to recognize the feeling. “Well, I’m the one who has you in a barrel. Aren’t I?” The pirate replies. Seonghwa spoke again, this time sounding almost nervous. “But if I chose to right now, I could sing my siren song and tell you to do anything. Like kill your crew or jump off the boat.” Hongjoong smiled. “You wouldn’t do that.” The siren frowned. “You don’t know me; you don’t know what I’m capable of,” Hongjoong, now lining up the fourth stitch, replied. “You may be right, but I do know that you’re in a barrel, because you chose to come to a pirate for help instead of just swimming away, which is what I assume any regular siren would do.” He completes the fourth stitch, and again, the grip tightens, the feeling growing all too familiar and all too soothing. It was almost like the siren’s hands belonged there. “Plus,” Hongjoong began. “Don’t you sirens have healing abilities when you’re in the water or something?” Seonghwa dropped one of his hands from the pirate’s arm to give it a gentle slap. “What?” Hongjoong laughed, already lining up the fifth and final stitch. “I mean obviously it’s not true, especially after tonight.” Seonghwa rolled his eyes; however, his annoyance quickly turned to pain as Hongjoong completed the final stitch. His slapping hand quickly returned back to the pirate’s forearm, now squeezing tighter than ever; he too felt an odd sense of comfort in this particular pirate. He wasn’t certain what it was, but the generosity and mystery from him was strange and intriguing. “Alright,” Hongjoong said. “You’re all done. I just need to cut the string and you’re good to go.”
Slowly, Seonghwa dropped his hands from the pirate’s arm, making Hongjoong feel a peculiar sort of emptiness. Hongjoong backed up a bit so that Seonghwa could inspect his work. Still with the needle and string attached to the siren, however, he searched his tattered pant pockets for any trace of a knife. “So,” Hongjoong began. “I forgot the knife.” The siren tilted his head towards the string. “This means I’m going to need to cut it with my teeth; my face is going to be really close; just don’t freak out.” Hongjoong encouraged. For once, the siren’s face wasn’t the same pale white it had been; it was now flushing with red. The pirate couldn’t help but giggle. “Got a pirate crush, have we?” Hongjoong teased, already nearing his face to the point of contact. “What?” Seonghwa said flustered. “No, ew. I would never.” Seonghwa's eyes are darting frantically to avoid Hongjoong’s body nearing his face. “What a shame,” Hongjoong whispers. As he snaps the thread with his teeth, backing away to make eye contact with Seonghwa, whispering again, “Because I would.”
Hongjoong watches as the siren’s eyes stare back, sparkling brown. Those round brown eyes that could entrance anyone whom they came across. Hongjoong examines the siren’s lips once again, admiring their pink color, like the tongue of a rabbit. The pirate moves, knowing that he can’t turn back, and not wanting to, he leans forward to press his lips against Seonghwa’s, resting his hands on the barrel. He feels the siren press back into his with his own soft lips, just as he had expected them to be. Seonghwa parts his lips, making way for Hongjoong to slip his tongue into the siren, and Hongjoong as well parts his lips, allowing Seonghwa to come into him. Hongjoong can feel the siren’s fingers firmly grasping his disheveled hair. He proceeds to move his hands from the barrel to the nape of Seonghwa’s neck, where he draws gentle circles with his thumbs. After a long while, Seonghwa pulls away. “You’re so perfect. Why can’t you be mine?” He speaks softly, pressing his forehead to Hongjoong’s. Hongjoong speaks in a breathy tone, reminding Seonghwa of his flavor of rum. “Sometimes the best kind of love is the love that cannot be, darling.”
Despite the pirate’s attempt at comfort, Seonghwa cries, and Hongjoong feels the change in breathing. He pulls away, looking up to see what appear to be diamonds running down the siren’s face. “Don’t cry, my love,” he assures Seonghwa. “We will see each other again someday; either out on the sea or in another universe we will find each other.” He says, wiping a tear from Seonghwa’s cheek. Another beautiful pearl glides down the siren’s face; Hongjoong leans forward and kisses it. “It’s time my precious,” he whispers softly into Seonghwa’s ear. The siren grabs him in a hug, holding him tight in refusal to let go. His sobs sound beautiful, like a sad pianist writing a masterpiece. Hongjoong pulls him in as tight as he can. “Please, don’t leave me,” begs Seonghwa. “I’ll never leave you, love; I’ll always be right here,” Hongjoong says, pulling away from the hug, kissing Seonghwa on the forehead where he had stitched him up. “Now, are you ready to return? It will be morning time soon.” Hongjoong prods gently. Seonghwa looks up at him with those eyes the pirate had fallen in love with so quickly. “No,” he says, looking down towards the rim of the barrel. Disregarding the siren’s answer, Hongjoong picks up the barrel and begins to carry it carefully and slowly towards the edge of the boat where there is an escape boat. “Please,” the siren begs again. “Don’t do this. I can live in a barrel.” Hongjoong laughs a little, almost dropping Seonghwa and the barrel altogether. “No, you can’t. You need to swim freely. Explore the ocean. There is much more out there for you than on this ship.” Hongjoong grunts, placing the barrel on the escape boat.
Hongjoong nears the siren for one final goodbye. “In another life, we shall meet; I assure you of this, my dearest.” He speaks. He leans in, kissing Seonghwa deeply one last time as Seonghwa grabs his sleeves desperately, but it’s no use.
Hongjoong pulls away. “I love you, Seonghwa,” he says, walking towards the pulley to lower the boat into the water. “I love you too, you idiot!” Seonghwa yells as he is already getting lowered into the water. However, he is able to make out the pirate mouthing the words “I know,” just before the escape boat hits the water and Seonghwa dives in gracefully. It makes for a beautiful sight for Hongjoong, watching such a beautiful creature move so majestically; he truly wished he could have stayed, but he knew this was best. “See you out there!” Shouted Hongjoong cheerfully. “See you out here!” Replied Seonghwa, and Hongjoong detected the faint crack in his voice as the glowing siren swam away, never to be seen again.
