I 100% think Teddy bear would fall for Max! I’m probably biased because I am pro MaxTeddy but come on! The man is ridiculously tall, handsome and charming (annoying and obnoxious as well yes), and he’s a cop! So Teddy gets that “edge” and that bad boy risk he’s drawn to, but in a contained way that’s channeled mostly through Max’s sometimes dangerous job. Because Max himself is hilarious and happy-go-lucky and extroverted while still being protective and teasing without being mean and controlling. It’s refreshing. And it’s safe. Even if Max is sometimes really dumb with his one braincell. Lol.
I’m invested in this, so now I wonder how they met? Was Max the one who saved Teddy from Cuba, and kept in touch with him over the years until it turned into something more? Did Max meet Teddy during a welfare check, and yes, it was against job policy, and yes it was inappropriate—but who could forget doe-eyes like that? That plush mouth?
Did Teddy meet him while getting his English degree at the local college, and they literally ran into each other because Teddy turned the corner and bumped into him and dropped all his books on Max’s boots? Maybe Max had passed the library one day and he saw Teddy sitting by the window writing studiously and no, there was no way he could pass up an opportunity to say hi to this very pretty, very shy little thing.
I think Max would love to cuddle Teddy nonstop, but being a cop who has dealt with really dark cases and knowing Teddy’s past, he knows there is a thin line between getting someone to open up and overstepping boundaries. Still, I can see him wanting Teddy badly like all the other “Terry” characters with their respective “Daniels”. How he gets Teddy to be okay with intimacy is another question. Maybe he lets Teddy make all the moves. Maybe he gentles him into it. Or even tickles him into it and paves the way with laughter and stupid jokes.
If I were to write a scene for this I would have to do a lot of research on the technicalities of getting someone out, but Max did after Cuba got arrested and was looking at several months of time. Teddy was 18, and not entitled to any help, so Max wanted to make sure the kid was OK. He had that look about him - he was a hair's breadth from getting trafficked, or recruited as a teenage dealer or both. So when Max heard that Cuba's arrest had Teddy lose his scholarship to NYU, because he couldn't get the paperwork in order on time (over a cup of hot chocolate in a diner somewhere because Max doesn't do welfare checks and showing up at Teddy's domicile would not aid his welfare anyway), Max stepped in. Reapplying for the scholarship with him, getting him a room out of the way of types like Redlights and Che and Jackie, but Teddy couldn't deal with the changes so quickly and crashed at his place. And Max wanted him but he refused to even try anything until Teddy had a place in a dorm and his own money and a student ID and a part time job, meaning every chance to get away from him. And Teddy was much, much too skittish in the beginning to even think of that but he did want a lifetime's worth of hugs. And when Teddy kissed him one day (shocked at himself), he told him: I can't, Teddy Bear, not like this, not until you're set up. But the day he was, the day he had his first scholarship cheque, was the day the first made out, and the day Teddy first froze in Max' arms.
Which Max expected. And immediately made light of. It took a lot of experimenting and I don't think by the time that ficlet of them in the water park takes place they've gone further than kissing and getting each other off. It really needs to come from Teddy and though Max takes every opening, it has to be at Teddy's pace and every "stop" has to be honored. It's super hot in its own way though Max does have to find other ways to let off steam sometimes!

So...I made this, and forgot I made it. This was from a while ago but I thought I'd put it up since I rediscovered it.
There's many movies I haven't seen, as obvious from this list, but if I'm honest I'd take him any way he is (except with the blonde weird mullet thing I don't know what's going on there). So I need to fill in these gaps soon.
But all the Terry’s are top tier for me. I'll fight you about it.
