When he’d embarked on the ship, Max was hoping to be helping his family, try to prove his worth. Of course, he was their only son, he had some worth to them, but he always felt rather useless. So being part of this business trip was a good start for him. And it was all going well, until they were boarded by another ship. Pirates. He hadn’t been prepared for that.
In all honesty, none aboard the ship really had been prepared for that, and while they did try to fight them off, it was rather useless. Only a few remained alive, and from the moment he was taken on the pirates’ ship, he hadn’t seen any of them again. He didn’t need anyone to tell him what happened to them, he knew. But what he didn’t understand was why he didn’t share that same fate, and was instead locked down in one of the cells. But Max didn’t complain, and just went along with it. If he was still alive, maybe he could actually make it out alive.
It was a rather dirty looking cell, nothing alike the luxury he was used to. Still, it had been a more exhausting day than he would’ve wanted, so he found a seat in the corner of the place. And he didn’t move when he saw people approaching, looking at them from a distance. He didn’t say anything though, only stared at them, waiting to see what was going to happen. Anyway, anything he could think of saying, he felt like it would just sound incredibly stupid and irrelevant.
