At the prospect of attending a party was enough to get Max excited for the night. Parties were a couple of the only times he was able to have a little bit of fun. And whilst his bodyguards were always lingering around at all hours of the day, at parties they tended to be more lenient. And by lenient, it meant that they were in the room, hovering near the walls and doors just to keep an eye on everyone and obviously him being the priority. However if someone strayed a little too close to him, then they would get involved which was embarrassing for Max, who had to tell them that it was okay and that nobody was trying to kill him. Although, they seemed to allow him more personal space whenever Brooke was around. He never questioned it, but he assumed that his bodyguards knew the spies, so when either of them were around they didn’t need to keep tabs on him every single minute. So in that sense, he was thankful to have Brooke making the effort getting to know him. Maybe it was because of her job, but she never treated him as though he was a ‘job’ or like he was even the President’s son. She treated him like a normal person and for that, he was grateful for. Part of him wondered whether after all this was over, if they’d keep in touch, or whether it will be swept under the rug and be another thing that just came and left. Max was currently talking to her about the party and although it had been roughly a month since she and Jaxon arrived, he thought to ask how she felt about being there. From there, the conversation just seemed to have escalated into random stuff. Looking around the room, he saw his girlfriend around and about; just seeing Casey there made him smile, so he decided that he’d go and say hello. “I’ll be back in a bit, I’m gonna go and see Casey,” he informed Brooke, before nodding his head in the direction he’d be heading in before getting up and walking over, behind her. Approaching her from behind slowly, being careful to not give himself away, Max grinned and placed hands over her eyes. “Guess who?” he said cheerfully before laughing slightly. When he removed his hands from her eyes, he smiled down at her, just so happy to be in her presence. “What’s crackalacking?”
