Anyhow, I hated him the minute I met him as a cadet at West Point. He's brilliant through...in the way a ruthless, ambitious man with the inability to have a creative thought of his own can be. I'm not saying this to be a hater, we could be in the same room together---but everyone there would know we loathed each other. He's also not honest. But that's just how some people are. Which is why I retired.

Also seems to be some stories about Taylor's aide, Capt. White, telling him off when ordered to inflate the bed and another about someone's cigarette lighting the mattress on fire and them having to throw it out the door somewhere on the way over.
