My body is my vehicle.. How dare I fucking shame it day in and day out? It gets me up in the morning. These arms and hands enable me to brush the "wonky" teeth I'm lucky to have. These eyes I bitch about allow me to see the beauty of the world around me... And even the injustices, which then allows me to MAKE A DIFFERENCE. This stomach I bitch and moan about enables me to eat, to digest, to get energy in a healthy and natural way.. And I'm lucky enough to be able to eat a decent amount everyday. How dare I complain about it. These legs will me to work a job I love.. Allows me to walk down streets I can only smile whilst thinking of. I can dance because of them. Because of my "fat thunder thighs", I can dream about doing aerial silks and I can use them to wrap around my lover when I'm so lucky as to be making love to him. These hips that he loves so much, and yet I've complained for years and years about how "awkward and ill proportioned" they are. These hips that I dare to sway to a song I love - I then put down? How dare I live the hypocrisy. How dare I shame these breasts just for being slightly smaller and for being uneven.. Someday, they may allow me to naturally breastfeed a baby with the love of my life... And even not, how dare I shame them when they're beautiful just the way they are? They're not riddled with cancer, threatening to kill me, and I have the nerve to complain of them?? The smile that makes my face all squinty... I complain about it and scoff when I see photos.. And yet that smile is all the people who love me want to see. How could I have spent so much time and so much energy hating myself? Why? And furthermore.. Why do we live in a society that cares more about women's (and men's, I'm not excluding or forgetting about you, guys) money than their happiness? We're all human beings, and yet so many people seem to forget about that so much... How dare these people make a profit on making us feel insecure and unhappy.. And making us believe that looking the horrifically rare "ideal" that even most 'ideal' (wo)men can't achieve without digital manipulation. Media is fucking disgusting. It's so, so vile. How dare they, and how dare I. Never again. My body is my vehicle, my temple. And I will worship it as such and thank it everyday for letting me live the way I want to, with few complications. And so should you.
