We got a new promo image with new screenshots!

We finally got a new promotional image today with some brand new, never before seen screenshots! The resolution on them isn't the best so I hope we do get some higher quality versions of each at some point. For now, it's all we can do to look closely and analyse them...

Here we can see some new outfits (I love that polka dot dress!) and the male villager at the front is showing off what looks to be a Horned Dynastid beetle. Also: bridges confirmed. I know some people were worried but really, the pole vault is just there to be a quick way of getting around so you don’t need to find a bridge every time you want to get somewhere. And we start on an undeveloped island! So it makes sense that bridges come later.

This snowy scene looks so cozy and warm... which is weird seeing as there is snow everywhere! I love the little camp fire and Fauna and Freya in the background. Also, is the villager sporting a new hairstyle?? I'm looking forward to experiencing winter and being able to change up what my island looks like to match the seasons. 20th March can't come soon enough!!

So orange! Also Vesta is in the background and looks to be wearing a scarf. Previously we’ve seen a sheep wearing a jumper in the winter. So they either wear jumpers in winter only and a scarf the rest of the time, or Vesta has a yellow shirt on that we can’t see very well and scarves are now separate pieces of clothing. 

I also see piles of leaves and a scarecrow!

This screenshot confirms how close we can get to the waters edge... this tent is an animal’s tent as it’s a different shape to the one we get and hasn’t got a mailbox. It’s already been confirmed that we can influence where your animals set down their houses by saying yes or no to them when they move in. It could be a matter of perspective but it looks right on the edge of the river! Now, it could be that tents are allowed that close as they aren’t permanent but maybe houses don’t have as many restrictions this time too... however, as this belongs to an animal I can’t see them asking you a second time when they upgrade their house and want to move locations...

I really like this set up, with the flowers surrounding the trees... and look at Goldie!! I can’t wait to see the cherry blossoms for myself...

Is anyone else really excited?? I know we all are but I can't wait for the next bit of news to hit us.

I'll try and post the next piece of news quicker next time, I wasn't sure if I was even going to post this, haha. And it takes a while making sure all the code is correct so it looks decent on the web version of the blog...

We don't get snow where I live so seeing it in Animal Crossing has always been great... the last time I saw proper snow in person was about 16 years ago when we had a snow day at school. Since then we might get some slush but nothing like before!

I almost always use a guide! I prefer to choose the look that I want, rather than be stuck with something I potentially don't like. This is why I am really liking the customisation in New Horizons! Lots more to choose from!

Name your favourite Animal Crossing season!

My favourite season is a tie between spring and winter... I know I'm supposed to choose one, and it was going to be spring because of when the trees become cherry blossoms, but with the new footage we've received of New Horizons I just can't choose.

Spring looks so welcoming, and the pink on the trees is gorgeous! And winter looks so frosty and like there is a mist hanging in the air. I can't wait to start playing and experience it for myself!

Name your favourite special character.

This was a bit of a hard choice... I didn't want to choose Isabelle because I think she's a lot of people's first choice. So I am going to have to go with Pavé! I love his energy and his overall personality.

I wish he was around more or for longer, wouldn't it be amazing if Festivale lasted more than a day? Or at least Pavé shows up for different events so we see him more than once a year.
