Just in time for the holidays, I bring you something special today— the long-awaited ninth installment of my Lovers of Aether incorrect quote series! Seeing as I've started to dip my paws back into the Aether franchise, I thought that it would be a well enough time to concoct another set of ten incorrect quotes starring all your favorites.
And it doesn't stop there; this is the first installment to be fully equipped with image IDs! I'm hoping to go back and write IDs for the previous eight parts sometime soon, but for now, consider this a treat for anyone that uses a screen reader! 💙✨
As always, for the best experience, click on each quote to get a better look at each one; it will also help separate one quote from the next!
Previous Parts: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8
While I'm not entirely sure when the ceremonious tenth installment will arrive, I can say with full certainty that I'm going to go all out with that one, in that I'll more than likely include more than the usual ten quotes alongside brand new text boxes! For now, I hope that these were worth the near-two year wait! 💖✨
At last, for the first time since August of last year...
Time for another set of Lovers of Aether Incorrect Quotes!
I've been wanting to make this particular part for quite some time now, as you may have guessed, though there are a lot of reasons why I'm just now getting around to it. Perhaps the most prevalent was the fact that I just kept on finding good incorrect quotes— to the point where it was almost impossible to choose ten of them for one post!
But after deciding on ten of my personal favorites, I can safely say that this batch of quotes may just be my favorite of the eight parts— in fact, do you remember when I said that Part 7 had the 'funniest and sweetest quotes yet'? The ones I've chosen for Part 8 take that claim up to eleven!
Before you check them out, I've noticed that, while formatting this post, reading each quote without clicking each one's respective image can sometimes make it tough to know when one quote ends and another begins (Funny how I don't catch this the first seven times). So, for the best experience, click each image and swipe/use your arrow keys to move onto the next!
Previous Parts: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7
So many of these quotes are perfect for the characters I chose them for, aren't they? Literally as I found the quotes that I used for this part, I would read one and think "Yep, that's Psycha" or "That's totally something Wrastor would do". I think the single most perfect quote of this entire set is Psycha's 'three best qualities'— it's like it was MADE for him!!
Around the end of next month, it will have been a full year since I've started this Lovers of Aether Incorrect Quote series, and what I'm aiming to do is release Part 9 on that date, then Part 10 on April Fool's Day, which is Lovers of Aether's original release date. It's the perfect plan!
For now, I hope that you've enjoyed the quotes because these are definitely my top favorites!
... for Part 7 of my Lovers of Aether Incorrect Quotes series!
Man, it's been a while since I've last made one of these posts! The main reason behind that is because I had a whole bunch of incorrect quotes to choose from, so my biggest obstacle was narrowing the selection down to ten or eleven quotes for the eventual seventh part in this series... then, the last two nights happened.
On the day before yesterday, with recently gained know-how on how to use the material dialog function in Medibang (My go-to art software in which I make the text boxes in), I decided that not only did I want to make more custom text boxes, but I also wanted to repattern and fix the colors of all sixteen text boxes I had already made. Needless to say, it took a while.
While the changes are extremely miniscule and would take a close observer to notice the differences in the patterning in the text boxes, they look a whole lot cleaner now, and it's now far easier for me than ever to make customized text boxes for characters in the Rivals of Aether franchise that deserve more love!
I find that the incorrect quotes I settled on for this post are amidst the funniest and sweetest ones I've chosen yet— you'll see EXACTLY why once you give them a look!
Previous Parts: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6
(Based on a post my good friend @minxxikuo made!)
I used a few of my newly-made custom textboxes here, namely those of Clairen's family; Dohren, Ren and Issa! Supposedly, there's now a ten image limit for posts (Unless there's always been and I've just somehow never exceeded it), so I had to save one I originally made for this part for next time.
I hope that you've enjoyed reading this latest batch of incorrect quotes, and Part 8 is certainly in the cards and shall be unveiled in due course!
So, you know how I spent a lot of time researching fonts and redrawing symbols from the ground up so I could have near-100% accurate Lovers of Aether text boxes? Well, a few days ago, I wanted to attempt something that I figured would be well-within my skillset: making a Medibang file where I could make full-on fake Lovers of Aether screencaps!
I had everything I needed. I had transparent images of all twelve dateable Rivals as well as identical text boxes, and really all I needed were backgrounds. After combing through some LoA playthroughs on YouTube, I was able to snag a few and create exactly what I sought out for— a screencap maker which has results that look convincing enough to be from the actual game!
So, where are some examples? Well, here’s the thing. Yesterday, I decided to download a decompiler app onto my phone and use it on Lovers of Aether to see if I could find any high-definition backgrounds to use instead of the ones I grabbed off YouTube. It didn’t quite work. But, you want to know what I did find?
The exact fonts Lovers of Aether’s text boxes use.
It was like finding buried treasure. Now, rather than using fonts that weren’t exact but instead the closest I could find, I now had everything I needed to make perfect Lovers of Aether text boxes, which means now they’ll look even CLOSER to the source material than ever before!
And there was only one way to give the new fonts a whirl...
You might notice that in two of these incorrect quotes, I use a new variety of text box— the narrative text box! I had a version of this text box as early as the last LoA Incorrect Quote post I did, but now that I have the font I needed for it, I’m fully comfortable in showing it off. I hope you enjoy this selection of incorrect quotes, and next time you’ll get to see how close my Lovers of Aether screencap recreations are!
If you can’t tell already, I really like the text boxes I’ve created for Lovers of Aether and using them for incorrect quotes. The characters are fun enough to write for as it is, but going incorrect quote hunting and thinking about which quotes fit what characters best has been some of the most fun that I’ve had in quite some time.
That said, here’s Part Five!
Originally, this post was going to be split into two sections; one half would be more incorrect quotes, and the other half would showcase my faux Lovers of Aether screenshots that I’m now able to make, though I figured to save the latter for its own post as to not make this post too long. As promised in Part 4, there’s a good few incorrect quotes here having to do with PsyClairen and MaypulBurn, so have fun reading them!
As usual, click on each image to get a better view of each quote, it will also help you separate one quote from the next.
Unlike the previous four parts, I can say with certainty that a Part 6 is indeed confirmed! I still have a good few quotes left over from when I made this set, and I guarantee that I’ll find more to include in the next part in the meantime thanks to the self-ship incorrect quote blogs I follow. I hope you’ve enjoyed this set, and look forward to the second half of this post!
It’s time for Part 6!
As I mentioned in my previous Lovers of Aether Incorrect Quotes post, a Part 6 was always in the cards seeing as I had a surplus of quotes left over from last time. And funnily, I still have more quotes that I’ve found between then and now, so eventually a Part 7 will come to fruition. Good thing, too, because I ADORE making these!
I’ve found that, unintentionally, there’s a lot of sweetness and hand-holding in this particular set of quotes, so if cutesy interactions are a favorite of yours, then you’ll love this batch!
Previous Parts: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5
(The quote above in particular was written by @ideasforincorrectquotes!)
As you can plainly see, there’s quite a bit of love in some of these quotes, both romantic or familial! I really like this set of quotes, and I hope that you did, too! Making these is always just so much fun!
A few days ago, I uploaded a post showcasing my recreation of Lovers of Aether’s text box style, claiming I had made one for all twelve dateable rivals. It was a very fun process preparing that post from gathering the incorrect quotes to tagging the post, but I realized as I neared the post’s completion that I had only showed off ten of the thirteen total text boxes I had made.
You know what that means? More Lovers of Aether Incorrect Quotes! Given that @stephysalcido was a big fan of the original post (Even going as far to say that she may even draw some of the quotes out— she’s the best), I figured I’d make a post with more comical incorrect quotes I found! Unlike previously, Orcane, Etalus and Ranno’s text boxes are now present, and if you continue on down beneath the cut, another surprise awaits as well... enjoy!
Pro Tip: Click on each image for a better view of the text boxes, it should also help separate each quote from the next.
The further along I went making incorrect quotes for the Lovers of Aether characters, I made a realization: I wanted to make ones starring lesser known Rivals of Aether characters— namely, Mayreed (Maypul’s little sister), Ayala (From Elliana’s character reveal trailer) and Bradshaw (Wrastor’s right hand man)... though only one of these characters appeared in Lovers of Aether at all, that character being Bradshaw, who only appears a few times in concept art and in-game backgrounds.
Given that I had made a custom text box for Psycha, I went ahead and gave these leftover characters the respect they deserve by also creating custom text boxes for them!
Admittedly, it was a little tough finding good incorrect quotes that I liked, so I don’t necessarily see a part three to this post, but that doesn’t mean it won’t happen because MAN I love making these. I hope you like them!
Tumblr has a very distinct lack of MaypulBurn content. Today, I hope to change that. I am putting a ‘read more’ on this post because it actually gets pretty long— longer than I intended it to be, but I still hope this is a wholesome read!
- It was Forsburn who made the first move. Before they began dating, Forsburn had always admired Maypul's constant positivity and bright smile, and sought to write a small poem in her honor... then another... then another... she had gone from inspiration to the subject of a vast variety of love poems, and yet despite his attraction toward her, Forsburn could never bring himself to show Maypul even one of the pieces he had written for her...
... until one day she found one.
Maypul tends to stick around after school for a little while, even if she doesn't have student council business to attend. Every day after final attendance, Maypul hangs around in the homeroom, tidying up for the next day of classes. One day, however, she came across Forsburn's poetry notebook wide open on his desk— Forsburn must have mistakenly forgot to take it with him. Maypul is quick to take it into her own hands so she can return it to him the next day, but her curiosity on what Forsburn is always writing about causes her to glance over the page he had left it open on...
... which, coincidentally, was chockful of poems all about her.
Maypul is taken aback, though in perhaps the best way possible. She could have never guessed that Forsburn liked her, and can't help but feel the same way about him, especially with what all he had written her. The next day, Maypul coyly returns the notebook to Forsburn, admitting she had caught sight of what the notebook had been opened to. Cue a very flustered Forsburn. He knows there's no way out of the situation, so he admits his love to her, asking her if she's interested in going out. At first, he doubts that Maypul will even agree to at all, fearing that his works of poetry on her would rub her the wrong way.
A resounding 'yes' and a tight hug from Maypul said otherwise.
- Remember when Rivals of Aether's official artist made art heavily implying MaypulBurn is canon, at least in terms of Lovers of Aether's continuity? I think it would be fairly safe to assume that, judging from this sketch, that Forsburn will find himself flustered any moment he's around Maypul, completely vanquishing that edgy demeanor he gives off. His biggest weakness is seeing Maypul give even a small hint of a smile— now that will get him red in the face.
- Because Maypul is such a big believer on physical affection, she will take any opportunity to hold hands with Forsburn that she can get. Forsburn doesn't mind this, of course, but can't help but feel embarrassed whenever she does, seeing as it makes him all soft and bashful.
- It's no surprise that Forsburn will write Maypul poetry out of love, but sometimes to make it extra special, he will read it to her personally instead of merely having her read it on her own. Where Maypul's smile is Forsburn's weakness, this is Maypul's. She adores the gentle quiver in his voice as he's reading to her, and always finds herself tackle-hugging Forsburn afterward, wanting to never stop hugging him.
- Maypul sometimes asks Forsburn to tag along to help out with student council work. One of her absolute favorite things to do with Forsburn in tow is decorating the school for an event, be it seasonal decorations or preparing for prom. It only means more time spent with him, and she is always pleasantly surprised by Forsburn's suggestions as to how they should go about decorating... though they do find themselves getting sidetracked quite a bit.
- Whenever Zetterburn has a football game at Aether High (Or any school, for that matter), Forsburn and Maypul will go together, for three different reasons. In Maypul's case, she tags along to show school spirit. In Forsburn's case, he tags along to show support for his brother. The third reason is unanimous between the two, however— it counts as a date.
