The blossom of the Crataegus monogyna (hawthorn, May tree, one-seed hawthorn, whitethorn, quickthorn) is just coming to an end. The hedgerows have been full of scented clouds of white flowers and the air is now full of flurries of the small disc-like petals. The dense, thorny habit is ideal for hedges but Crataegus monogyna can grow into a small tree, here complete with a surrounding seat.

1 Year Ago Today: The Duke & Duchess of Cambridge visited St. Thomas’ Hospital to meet with Jonny Benjamin and Neil Laybourn to discuss tackling the stigma of suicide, while also visiting Maytree, an organization which works in preventing suicide. Finally, The Duke & Duchess had a discussion with children about mental health at Kensington Palace on March 10, 2016.
