Ok ok I have to know; RO reactions to an MC that made them a meal? (they put a lot of effort into it but it's up to you whether it's good or not)(Do spirits even eat?)
That’s a good question! So interestingly, as a spirit becomes stronger, eating becomes a necessity because they can’t regain energy from just sleeping or reverting back to their true forms.
Also, they like the novelty of eating and humans often give offerings in the form of food (i.e. candy, oranges, meat, etc.), so they would probably just like snacking for the sake of it anyway.
Here are the reactions! Sorry it took a while for me to answer this, I haven’t had time to actually sit down and write all day today qq
Qiu is a little suspicious at first because An has hardwired him into distrusting food made by others. He notices, however, the cuts and burns healing along your fingers and sees the glowing eagerness of your face, and feels awful about doubting you. Good or bad, he finishes his plate cleanly and smirks as you lean anxiously to hear his verdict.
“Anything made by you is infinitely better than anything by An, so don’t look so worried. I liked it. Thank you.”
An hums and watches you present the plate with keen interest. She’s a gourmand so you’re especially nervous about her opinion, but she makes a big show of holding the food up to her lips and chewing thoughtfully with her fingers over her mouth. She eventually swallows, winks, and reaches out to bring you next to her.
“That’s tasty~ Come here, have you eaten yet? Let’s eat this together–I mean, it’s lonely having to eat by myself, right?”
Min He is used to having others cook or bring food for her, but she’s touched all the same. She eats delicately, as ever, unable to keep the bubbling happiness on her face. Regardless of the taste, there’s something incredibly warm about the attention she feels from you and she relishes in the experience more than anything.
“I…Can you cook for me again, next time? Only if you want to, of course, but I’d really love it if you did.”
Kaski perks his head up when you come bringing food. He isn’t picky and he eats quite a bit, so he probably enjoys whatever you made for him. He tugs you to his lap afterwards and nips your palms and fingers gratefully, rubbing them if he notices you have nicks or burns from cooking.
“Thanks, but don’t push yourself. I’ll eat whatever you bring me.”
Xinyi falls in love all over again. He often cooks for people as a sign of appreciation or affection, so having you present it to him means more than you can know. If it ends up being bad, he’ll still eat all of it while giving you pointers about what you can do next time. His expression lights up completely as he suggests that you both try cooking together.
“Honestly, I’m not that good at making actual meals too, but it sounds like fun, doesn’t it?”
Hiemi is surprised that you’ve done this, considering that she doesn’t eat much at all. She’s touched and charmed, and she tries to finish it even though her appetite is small. She laughs at you if you’re nervous and might end up getting you to eat with her too.
“I couldn’t eat all of it even if I wanted to, and anyways, I don’t like taking my meals alone. You’d be doing me a favor--well, another favor, I guess.”
Go Ro hesitates on principle. He doesn’t eat much in the first place, and even his own retainers have failed to get him to eat a full proper meal. Still, he dislikes wasting effort, especially yours, so he methodically begins to eat what you’ve made. Regardless of how it tastes, he finishes it without changing his expression once, except afterwards, when he gives the smallest sigh of satisfaction.
“It tasted fine. Stop looking at me like that. I ate it, didn’t I? You think I’d go so far as to poison myself for your sake?”
Chun raises a brow incredulously when you announce it and looks dumbfounded when you actually place the plate in front of her. Her eyes shine when she takes a bite, and she can’t help but to smile a little as she continues to eat. It’s been a while since she’s had a full-on meal made by someone she cared about. She might cry.
“N-No, it’s not bad….It really isn’t, I just–I…Th-Thank you. This is really good….”
Spider makes you feed the first bite to him with his chin propped up in his hands. So lost in the moment, he probably doesn’t have his guard up, so if the meal is bad, you’d be able to tell by his expression in an instant. Still, he insists on eating the rest, even pushing you away with his foot as he scarfs it down if he has to.
“It’s fine–It’s fine, Fireball. I want it, so I’m eating it! Make it again for me tomorrow. I’ll be hungry again then too, so promise me you’ll make this again!”
