Achromatic makeup look

I absolutely loved this look as shades are my favorite use in makeup.

So as always we prepare the face with cleanser to remove impurities and if you have makeup to take off. Tone to restore ph balance and begin with the primer. Prime the face to provide a lasting look (use eye primer for the sensitive skin around the eyes) and start to blend the foundation in to even the skin tone and cover blemishes etc. After we highlight, contour and blend; usually eyes for the shadow to provide a more color pigment, nose cheeks chin and forehead are highlighted and a nice sun-kissed bronzer to shade the face and give more definition to my face shape. Once everything is blended I like to set my face with setting spray and let it dry.

So once it's dry I start with my eyeshadow to get the general shape that I want to use fast drying liquid eyeliner for a butterfly look. I use white lightly tapped to the inner corner of my eye, a silver in the middle and a darker grey for the outer eyelid and into a B shape on the outer corner of my eye. I blend it with a small fluffy brush to soften the lines and smooth the shades together. Again a personal preference but I use setting spray on my eyeshadow so it won't budge when I do my eyeliner. Starting at the outer corner on the bottom lash line I lightly stroke the eyeliner towards the inner corner of my eye, then follow the inner corner and go out towards the outer eyelid following just a bit above the eye crease. This can be really tricky so I take a min to steady myself. I continue to go outward creating the top of the butterfly wing, then following down to the outer eye I create the bottom of the butterfly wing and finally connect the liner to the bottom lash line.

Now that I have created the desired wing shape I fill in the butterfly wing details giving life to the wings creating a beautiful look.

After I finish that I use white shadow to add in the final details to my butterfly wing to finish off my achromatic butterfly look.

As for the lips I use a black, silver and white eyeshadow with lip gloss to create a horizontal ombre affect for my lips.

Cut crease eye make-up look

Ok so I love this look soo much it was one of my personal favorites and normally I usually go out like this using this make-up look in particular. Anyway as always I cleanse and tone my face to help my skin prepare for my look as well as to restore my natural ph balance on my face which is what toner does.

After that's done I start with my primer first with face and a primer for my eyes because the skin on your eyes is my sensitive than the rest of your face. Since my face is ready for application I take my foundation and blend it onto my skin and usually I personally again like to set my eyes and face with highlighting and contouring the face first as well. I recently liked to apply concealer onto my eye lids and outter bottom eye all the way to the edge on my face close to the hairline. Once this is all blended in I begin to apply eyeshadow using white on the inner corner, black for the bottom crease and a forest green for the top crease. I did blend the green shadow into a winged look bring out my preference for a bold look that compliments my style.

Moving onto my eyeline on the bottom of my eyelid I follow out and wing it on the edge giving the eyeshadow more pigment as well. I then apply my eyelashes gently however prior to that I have lightly put mascara on to help blend the lashes with the lash extensions.

As for the lips I just add a light brown lip pencil and gloss to complete my cut crease.

Day-time make-up look

Daytime look: I first cleansed and toned my face to prepare for my daytime look. I then apply primer to set my foundation so it can last throughout the day. After the primer has set I begin to apply foundation on my face in a dabbing circular motion so it is well blended into my skin; which after I personally like to apply contour, set the eyes with eye primer, highlight and contour my face with a more defined look. Moving onto the brows again I personally really don't have much shape to them so I just darken them with a brow pencil or gel. As for eyes shadow; I begin with a rose gold color on the out bottom as well as upper edge of the eyelid, following through the top upper eyelid and towards the crease. Apply a white eyeshadow I fill in the middle eyelid and into the inner eye corner; which then I take a small fluffy blush to soften rough lines of my eyeshadow. So with my eyes almost being done I then apply eyeliner on the top bottom edge of my eyes and doing a small winged look at the out edge of my eye. Finishing my look with lash extension and setting my daytime make up with setting spray. Lastly I apply a plum color lipstick and just a bit to lightly color the lips. I take of any excess products with a cotton pad and viola! I have my daytime look and ready to go for the day.

Lip shapes and correcting them

Full top lips: Top seems to be more full while the bottom seem well portioned. What you can do is take down the heaviness of the top lip using a lip liner and just outline a more even look to the bottom.

Uneven lips: One side of the lip seems a bit uneven to the rest, so use a lip liner to compensate for that side by creating a more even look on a side you choose.

Down turned lips: Corner of the lips are turn downward making the lips look frowned. So outline around the corners making them look more turned up and cheerful.

Small lips: Enhance the lips by outlining the outer lip line.

Thin lips: Lips look straight and slim. Create a more full look by drawing an outline beyond the lips natural fullness. Then create a higher arch with the cupids bow.

Full lips: Very plump and full lips are treated by using an outline to diminish a bit of the fullness inside the surrounding of the natural lip line.

Full bottom lip: Bottom lip is more plump than the top, you can outline the top a bit more and decrease the bottom lip a little bit as well to create still lush lips with more balance.

Eyebrow design

There are 8 eyebrow designs altogether. No eyebrows, thin sculpted, thin high, full brows, classic shaped, far apart, horizontal, and natural.

No eyebrows: makes you appear emotionless and is usually a result of medical treatment and not of personal choice.

Thin sculpted brows: Makes you look more dramatic, depending on position can make a more angry or mean expression. The eyes are made to look more close-set.

Thin high brows: Cause the forehead to appear more narrow than wide. Are more higher and rounded and often create a surprised look.

Full eyebrow: Heavy looking and helps accentuate line quality and position in which created.

Classic brows: Well positioned arches that create a balance look as well as flawless symmetry while framing the eyes and still perfect for a lot of make-up trends.

Spaced out eyebrows: Brows spaced further apart make the eyes further apart and a wider forehead as well as making the brows themselves look wider.

Horizontal brows: Are more straight across and if angled more downward can create a sad or worried expression.

Natural eyebrows: Commonly has stray hairs and has no definite lines created. Brows grow below the arch making the eyes appear closed off.

Eye shapes

Deep-set eyes: Doesn’t require much contouring but the eyes can be more brought out with light and bright shadows and look more forward.

Drooping eyes: Can appear more lifted using darker shadows and eyeliner in an upward motion away from edges on the outter part of the eyes. using eyeliner to connect the drooping edges to give a lifted affect and look balanced.

Almond eyes: Natural classic eye shape for eyes. Can define the natural shape with smudging eyeliner over upper and lower lids of the eyes. apply neutral shadow to the eyes giving a more enhances definition to the natural structure of the eyes.

Wide-set eyes: Appear more closer together as well as deeper when blending shadows and eyeliner together near corners of the eyes. blend softly close to the bridge of the nose to give the illusion of a more closer eyes as well as a centered look.

Close-set eyes: The opposite of the wide set these eyes more closer to each other the wide set eyes, This can be easily drawn apart using shadows and liner and shaping the edges of the brows. Use a light shadow on the inner corners and a darker tone outward giving it a more further and even out appearance.

Small eyes: Small eyes can be very enhanced with brighter colors and light shading of the lower and upper lids which in turn can help define the eyes without making the look too closed off.

Bulging eyes: These eyes are helped a lot with the benefits of contouring of the protruding lid. Lower and top lid should be lined with a deep eyeliner of same color and connected at the inner corner. Apply shadow from dark at the lids and lighter towards the brow bone.

Asian eyes: Asian eyes should be enhance using eyeliner on the base edges of the lash line. Thickness of the eyeliner increases towards the inner lash line of the eyes. however eyeliner on the bottom lash line is applied thicker on the outer edge and lighter towards the inner edge of the eyes. Finish off with a light/neutral contour from the inner corners of the lower lid to create a finished dimension.

Hooded eyes: You help make a beautiful look to the eyes by applying medium shadow colors to the upper lid of inner corner to make it appear more receded with it brushing into the upper inner brow line. use contour on the outer part to balance everything out and deepen the shadow to push back outer edge of the eyelid.

The law of color and how it applies to makeup design

The law of color is important to selecting appropriate colors for a clients make-up color options. They are so many colors to begin with, however only three are pure because no other color can create it; those pure colors are called primary colors that create the secondary and leading into tertiary colors. Primary colors are known as red, yellow, and blue. Secondary colors are referred to as orange, violet and green; while tertiary colors are red-orange, red-violet, blue-violet, blue-green, yellow-green and yellow-orange.

Primary colors can’t be created they are pure OG’s that make the secondary colors.

Secondary colors are the second in command type, they work with primary to create a new broad of colors called tertiary colors.

Tertiary colors are the late comers from the mixed combinations of secondary and primary colors in equivalent or nonequivalent proportions, and mixing all three categories make grey and brown.

The COLOR WHEEL: This tool sets all twelve colors in a circle in a position that demonstrates their relationship between each color to the primary color.

COMPLEMENTARY color schemes include colors that are directly across from each other on said color wheel. these colors create a great amount of contrast and are often used in make up design to complement the eye color. Eg: blue eyes would be complemented with orange eye shadow.

COLOR VOCABULARY:

HUE: Another term for color

TINT: A pastel looking color with white added in to give it a lighter look

SHADE: Is a darker color with black added to the color

VALUE: Is the lightness or darkness of color

INTENSITY: Refers to the vibrancy of the color

TONE: Refers to the warmth/coolness of a color

WARM and COOL Colors: are terms to describe the term of colors and as well as the skin. Warm colors contains red and yellow colors while cool contain blue undertones. Warm colors are usually in the red and yellow half and cooler colors are the blue and green half.

COLOR SCHEMES:

MONOCHROMATIC: Are the colors use in the same color variations

ANALOGOUS: uses three colors adjacent to each other, also used in daytime makeup.

TRIADIC: Uses three colors located Triangularly in the color wheel to give a more vibrant make up look.

Lip gloss: adds shine and volume/fullnes

Lip liner: Defines/corrects shape of the lips

Setting spray: sets the application creating a lasting effect. Comes in powder form as well
