Grain Elevator, McCone County, Montana by Arielle Seibold-Galston Via Flickr: Our next stop was one that Hayley's fiance was adament that we see. I'd seen it from the road and had driven near it but had never been up close. This old grain elevator couldn't have been cooler looking and a better photo op in the evening light. The prairie was fairly glowing so I took as many shots as I could and hoped they would work out. And they did! Not only did Hayley and I have fun walking around the old elevator, but Koda (her bird dog) had fun flushing out any birds or critters in the area :) I hope you enjoy the photos of the grain elevator and can get a little of the feeling of being out on the vast and open prairie in early summer.

The "Plaid Man House" McCone County, MT by Arielle Seibold-Galston Via Flickr: When I saw this house on a hill (I could only see the top of it) I got really excited and started almost jumping out of my seat. It's so unusual looking! We had turned off onto the dirt track leading to the house (which is obscured from the road by a shelter belt of trees) and were about halfway there when we saw another pickup coming toward us. We drove up beside it, and the old farmer inside wondered what we were doing by the abandoned house. He then told us that the "plaid man" lived there and now his old man ghost haunted the place, pinching peope's necks. He said he "swore" he'd had his neck pinched before. It was hilarious! It freaked us out a little but as soon as we drove up I was out of the truck and into the house! It's too cool looking! Hayley was a little more reticent, especially when at least three doves kept flying out of the house at her, but my enthusiasm seemed to help her walk around a little. Unfortunately this place is in pretty bad shape. But the views were gorgeous and the light was just right. And hey, no one pinched my neck! That evening when we told Hayley's fiancé Lee about the encounter, he said he knew who the guy was (of course) and that he liked to make things up on the spot just to hear himself talk and to BS people. So we're guessing that there was no "plaid man".
