Isaac and Steph + #7 for the Spotify ask.
7. Bubbly - Colbie Caillat
Lyric: Honestly, I can’t pick, this whole song is just them…I can’t…But for the sack of argument we’ll say it’s the chorus.
Long fingers gently combed through Steph’s hair, morning sunlight threatening to burn through her eyelids as Issac held her, going through his motions in his sleep. She’d been awake for a little while at this point, just enjoying the warmth and safety of him in her bed. She knew Danny would kill her if he found her, but she’d been careful letting him in last night. She’d gotten pretty good at blocking his senses past her door, and using her abilities to mess with her brother’s. It allowed her such comforts as her boyfriend cuddling her in the early morning light. As the morning light burned brighter though, she scrunched up her face, nuzzling into his neck in an attempt to block out the sun, causing him to wake up, and chuckle lightly at her.
“Morning, Love,” He mumbled, his morning voice sending pleasant chills down Steph’s spine as he pressed a kiss to her temple. “Sorry if I woke you. You looked so relaxed, I couldn’t bring myself to move.”
She hummed slightly, shaking her head. “I’ve been up…I didn’t want to wake you.” She tilted her head up to kiss his jaw, smiling as the barest amount of scuff tickled her nose.
He shook his head at her confession, squeezing her closer to him as he kissed her forehead, and her cheek, and her nose, and finally her lips. She smiled at all of it, pulling him closer for the last one. Isaac also smiled, cupping his hand around her jaw to pull her closer. They lay like that for a moment before she pushed him away, feeling his other hand move down her side. She shook her head, laughing at him lightly, while she placed a hand on his chest.”
“We keep that up and Danny is bound to find you…” she said resting back into the crook of his neck, “Which would totally ruin my plan for us to hide away in here all day, Not a care in the world until well until we have to.” She gulped trying not to think of the full moon, as she turned into him more. She worried about him, about all of them, and wasn’t sure how she could help. She jumped slightly as Isaac started to absently run his fingers through her hair again, relleasing tension she wasn’t even aware had manifested in her body. She sighed as he twirled some of the coppery strands around his finger, letting them fall ingo small, hand-made ringlets. After a moment he spoke, speaking her worries aloud. She often wondered if he was the psychic or whatever instead of her.
“You’re nervous about tonight…aren’t you?” He said, his cheek resting against the side of Steph’s head as she nodded slightly, “Do you want to talk about it?”
Her hair tousled next to my face as she shook my head against him. She didn’t look at him, and didn’t say anything, feeling him sigh under her. He brought two fingers to her chin, forcing her to meet his gaze. She tried to look away, but there was something about the sincerity of his eyes that made her pause.
“You know I won’t let anything happen to you, right?”
Steph smiled at him, placing her hand on his chest as she touched their foreheads. “I know, it has nothing to do with me feeling safe. That’s easy when I’m with you…I just… I want to help, but I don’t know enough about my abilities, and I’m sure Danny’s going to try and lock me up here.”
She sighed, rubbing at her nose. “It’s you guys I worry about…” She pulled herself up to look at him better, trying her best to convey her concerns. Isaac searched her gaze for a moment, as if trying to pick out every thought hidden there, before giving her a small smile. Sitting up, he pulled her into his chest, enveloping her with a hug. His warmth surrounded her like a blanket as he rested his chin on top of her head.
“I’ll be okay.” His voice soothed her as she held onto him, her hands shaking with emotion. “Hey, I promise I will.”
Steph looked up at him, thinking of everything he did, all that they went through, and even everything he made her feel. She couldn’t doubt him, not now, not when he needed her to trust him most. So, she brushed away her worries, and she nodded, offering a smile.
This went from fluffy to angsty really quick, but ya know what, those feelings can go either way, sooo...I think it worked out. Hope you enjoy my babies!
