:}
Headcanon: Ava introduced Lerato to musicals via Hamilton. Unknowingly giving Lerato a whole new arsenal of vocal stims and phrases. Giving Ava a mild headache and confusing Antonia to no end.
Scenarios below cut
Chapter#1
Lerato sat alone in her living room, the TV was on, but she wasn't paying it any attention. She was thinking about the one person she had loved like the sun, her name was Antonia. And she had had the most beautiful dimpled smile anyone had ever seen, her mismatched eyes, her face, her rough yet gentle hands when she carefully held hers in her own. Memories that once felt warm and soft now felt cold. Like a taunt of what could've been if she hadn't taken on that job, if she had managed to convince her to reject the offer, or at least managed to get her to stay in bed just ten more minutes... Antonia would be here. Laughing at her dumb jokes and listening to her rant about horses for an hour, she missed her. She could barely function without her, her sleep schedule was horrid and almost nonexistent, she had lost ten pounds and couldn't keep track of what day it was, being sober meant being able to think, and being able to think meant her Toni's face was mocking her, so she rarely was nowadays. Speaking of substance abuse, the bottle she was holding was almost out.
Just as Lerato was standing to get another bottle of Vodka, a familiar face popped up on TV. Valentina Allegra De Fontaine. Her. It had been her who had damned Toni to such a fate, the one who had used Toni like a dog and got her killed like one. Lerato's head slowly turned to her room, where her closet would be. Lerato slowly walked over to her room and searched the closet, going through a small array of guns, knives, and finally, Toni's sniper. She picked it up and stared at it for what felt like hours but realistically could've only been a few seconds, she wouldn't kill her, no. That would be far too merciful.
I'm giving y'all a feast today, Yelena will be here shortly
Chapter #2
Lerato was now sitting on a rooftop, equipped with Antonia’s sniper rifle and the anger of three years. She had found out everything about Valentina thanks to her hyperfixation on cybersecurity and hacking. She found where she lived and a few other shady things that were perfect for blackmail, and it allowed her to mess with her head a little before actually punching her on the nose.
Lerato took a bite of her lonely bagel and observed from her perch as Valentina left her apartment building, giving her the opening she was waiting for, she knew Valentina wouldn't be back for at least an hour, so she had time. She put on her gloves and clipped on her harness before lowering herself to a window in Valentina's apartment she knew she never locked, easily climbing in and looking around.
She wanted to mess with her head before actually confronting her, the cruel and sick part of herself enjoying the picture of a paranoid and scared Valentina. She left a folder with evidence about some not-so-legal deal she made with some gang leader, king-something, it didn't matter to her. The folder also had a typed-out letter that contained Antonia’s not-so-kind thoughts about her in Russian that she wrote in first person and signed as Antonia.
She wanted Valentina to be haunted by Antonia’s ghost as much as she was. She would make her think she was alive, that she had somehow survived and was now out there somewhere, waiting for the perfect time to strike.
... Or maybe she just wanted to have an excuse to pretend she still had her, that she was alive and just hiding...
Lerato shook her head, blinking away tears as she shoved the folder onto the table and left the apartment the same way she came in. She should be better than this, she is better than this. Dreykov is sure of it.
She just needed to regroup, collect herself. She packed up everything once she got to the rooftop and left, wiping away the few tears that had fallen out of her eyes. At least the plan was in motion now.
Monster AU, Lerantova
