A bit of a theory
Based on what occurred in the last chapter, many say that Rory is realizing that they made a mistake in jumping to conclusions and assuming that MC was uninterested in them. In all honesty this is likely exactly it.
However, a comment on Facebook led me to looking at this a different way.
So u know how Rory comes in and immediately MC bumbles about how nothing had happened with Ajay. Rory looked in between the two, Ajay explained how they had gotten accidently locked in and one of the lines was interesting, and that Rory was uncomfortable basically
Which leads me to ask these questions;
What if Rory didn’t believe what MC said was true? What if Rory thinks there’s something going on between MC and Ajay?
I mean, look who they were alone with. Danielle. Who asked Rory out. WHO KNOWS WHAT ELSE DANIELLE COULD HAVE TOLD RORY?
Maybe...
Rory: oh hey Danielle? What are you doing here?
Danielle: hi Rory. What’s up
Rory: oh just waiting for MC
Danielle: hmmm MC huh? I wouldn’t wait up if I were you. Saw them talking to Ajay. They were getting very cozy. In fact I was gonna stay after with them to ask Ajay some questions but when I saw how close they were I didn’t want to interrupt them
Rory: oh...
Danielle: ehhhh I’m sure it’s nothing! But hey, I wanted to ask you something

It could also cause further drama if danielle really is spreading rumours about Ajay and MC being together. Cos remember, yea she’s getting with Rory to go to homecoming woohoo whatever. But in the end, who is getting that stage kiss? You think Danielle gonna let that fly lmao. Sending out rumours that MC is only where she is bc the director has a bias for her is the perfect way to stir sumn up.
As I said this is unlikely, but a part of me lives for this theory. However, if you’re romancing Skye it would suck all around cos then it would probably feel like Ajay is the one being forced :( so oh well.
But still I’m an Ajay Stan first and foremost I can dream
There is something that I like in having the others speculate what things are like between Ajay and MC now
