Parsing media relations for fun
Does anyone think this article about Charles keeping the Sussexes "at the heart of his funeral" is a response to this article from Richard Eden that says William intends to remove the HRHs for the Sussexes when he is king?
Or am I looking for a palace conspiracy where there is none? These two stories being published close to each other could simply be a concidence.
If it ISN'T a coincidence, does this mean BP and KP are beefing with each other through the media again?
There were reports of tension between William and Charles at The Order of the Bath service? I watched it, and everything seemed normal and friendly. But Tom Sykes says a "friend of William" briefed him that the Order of the Bath was the type of "medieval cosplay" William thinks is ridiculous. We know how William feels about cloaks and hats with giant plumes, but I highly doubt William has sanctioned a friend to talk to Tom Sykes. About this, of all things. Tom later says "a source close to William" (that would he his communications team) "dismissed the suggestion that he had reservations about the Order of the Bath service".
So... who is masquerading as a "friend of William" to brief Tom Sykes, and to what end? Is this friend a figment of Tom Sykes' imagination, created for the purposes of legitimising this article? That would be my guess.
