because of the sheer height differences between the workshoppers, (not to mention that quite a few of them just arent built for regular chairs,) each of them has their own specific chair/stool at the dinner table so that they can be at a comfortable height. moving someone elses chair is a high crime and there will be consequences
when theyre angry/stressed, flasque will clang their segments together out of pure frustration.

when they were first synthesized, auglur spoke in the monstrous equivalent of Ye Olde English. they phased out most of it over time just because no one else spoke that way, but if theyre emotional they default back to shakespeare-talk entirely
even though tauter is the more responsible sibling they are not immune to wanting sweets before dinner. them and teeter have been known to work together to get up to places and shelves they werent supposed to be in and steal cookies and stuff
although the green liquid inside flasque isnt corrosive, it IS an irritant and very poisonous
piplash sometimes likes to shake their head around just to hear whatever notes their antennae make. probably a stim of some sort!
since they came from the synthesizer and not bubblerite statues, zarroë had no control over what the unstable ethereals looked/functioned like (based on a tidbit from flasque's bio - apparently its a "fluke of nature" that the green liquid fortifies the glass. now ofc this could just be extrapolation on the end of whoever wrote the bio but its all we have so im going with it)
^at some point one of them has asked zarr something to the effect of 'why did you make me this way.' zarr was really confused and had to explain that no, none of how they look/function/whatever was done on purpose
in the event of a power outage, everyone has an assigned buddy- usually one with the shadow element and one without, just so folks can navigate in the dark reliably
^this same buddy system applies for if folks want to go on a longer trip away from the castle for the sake of safety. some folks ignore this (coughcough vhenshun coughcough)
a group of x'rt, should such a thing ever come to be, is called a confusion
re: pillow forts being common practice during zarroë's brainstorms (and maybe power outages too), usually its tauter (since teeter gets too antsy to stay still), piplash, and blarret inside the actual fort
^sometimes meebkin (parental figure) or pentumbra (shadow quad whose opinion on the dark can obviously be trusted) will chill in there with them for comfort during particularly bad events
vhenshun hates the rain, not because it makes them rust faster but because it blocks the view of the sky

nitebear sometimes twirls one of its cables around its finger when its focused on something
meebkin has accidentally taught some meebs how to mimic monstrous speech. they really only say things like 'treat' or 'hello' or 'dear' (ie things that meebkin says to them a lot) but it freaks some of the others out
pentumbra doesnt have a very good sense of balance/equilibrium, which is actually good for them given they walk on the walls and the ceilings
oogiddy uses their chromatophores to communicate!! it tends towards reds and oranges at rest, so its very obvious when theyre sick or afraid because they turn pale (a real phenomenon btw. marine biology my beloved)
bonus-since zarroë makes bubbles, celebrations (especially for life-formula) in the workshop/ethereal island always include bubbles :)
