January 2024 // resilience ✨💫🌴
“Delulu” is my favourite word at the moment. Gotta have a sprinkle of delulu to stay resilient. A belief that goes beyond what everything else around you tells you. 😅
My unexpected favourite uncle.
My auntie's husband. Humble yet strong and forthcoming. When my father passed last year and when we held my father's rememberance/ homecoming in June this year... This unbelievable man supported us in unbelievable ways.
Within family things are tough, especially in Zulu culture. Women can't "just do" everything, there needs to be a trusted male individual to guide and inform the other men on what needs to be done. My Uncle did that.
From my mother's maternal side, Mr Ximba is that man. I owe this man a cow, and even more!
African Porridge : Pumpkin and Maize Meal 😋
Isijingi. It’s a pain to make but oh so delicious and filling.

December 2021 | imvunulo (Zulu Attire)
This month au wore both the traditional outfits. I decided to wear ibheshu as I am older than my cousin so culturally I shouldn’t be wearing the same clothes as her. I am proud of both fits.
