The First Walk

Sunsetting over Alberton from Florentia, Old Alberton. This is a shot from the stoop of my grandmother’s house. 

I had hiked from my house across Alberton for dinner. This shot was inspired by my grandfather. He was always inspired by the silhouette of a tree into the sky as if the earth was reaching out to touch the sky. 

This was my first photo adventure since thinking up the idea of a space for images and stories about the south of Johannesburg. In this collection; I have a variety of images, from the Alberton Boulevard to the top of the hill back down to Old Alberton. 

Each corner of Alberton town had memories of family outings past and some history past down from my grandparents to my parents and now are old stories to me.
