Our next ALGAE meeting will be on LG Gaming!

Games-Night was a hilarious success last Wednesday and Saturday - thank you all so much for your participation! Jumping right off of the Games-Night high, we’ve decided to open the floor to our members, and expand with a meeting on LG Gaming. Video games are such a big part of people's lives, its no surprise that gay people have a lot of thoughts about how we are represented in games and what its like playing video games as a gay man or lesbian. If this is up your alley, join us Saturday the 17th at 11:00 a.m. EST and Wednesday the 21st at 8:30 p.m. EST !

.:What To Bring:.

**Games You Love Much like our LG-Media meetings, we’d love to hear about our member’s favourite games, and why they love them so. Bringing along any of your recommendations to share, would be a great start! NOTE: As always, this is not mandatory - but let it be known we are by no means gaming elitists. Casual phone games, to Hardcore stuff, we’re not here to judge, so please don’t be shy!

**Room On Your Friends-List Along with discussing the things that excite us (and possibly frustrate us) about modern gaming, we want to to foster more of a connection between members outside of meeting times! To do that, we encourage members to come prepared to trade friend-codes, so we can get some multi-player fun happening! If there is enough interest, we may even propose a Gaming-Meeting, in future! NOTE: Games do not necessarily have to be LG-centric, as we feel, simply having other LG friends to play with, is a valuable experience in and of itself. For example, ModLars, and myself could always do with more friends on Poke’mon Go, as the developers are insistent on requiring more friends to complete objectives >:/

The Next Meeting-Topic Has Been Decided!

Hello everyone - thank you for waiting! Our first two Topic-Meetings have been a great success! We are truly grateful to everyone who took the time to participate, and share LG Media they love. Your enthusiastic engagement is the wind in our sails, and ModLars and myself are incredibly excited for future meetings! It has been delayed - but stay tune in the discord for more updates regarding an organised list/directory of all the LG media we discussed for anyone’s desired future reference.

Coming up this week and next (Saturday July 20th, 11am EST and Wednesday July 24th, 8:30pm EST) we’re going to be dipping our toes into LG History! Because it was the second most popular choice in our initial topic vote, it only seemed fair - so for all our members who have been waiting, the floor is yours!

.:What to Bring:.

One of ALGAE’s big goals is to reconnect with our shared history and combat the isolation many of us experience as lesbians and gay men. We have always existed. We are not as alone as it often feels we are.

This week, we’re inviting members to find a piece of local LG history, and share it during our next meetings. It does not have to be an essay in length! A link to an article, a photo, a sentence of history that resonated with you. It can be from your town, your city, your state, your country, your place of birth, your parents’ place of birth. Whatever draws you. Let’s remind ourselves that we have always been here. Not just in America at Stonewall, not just in big name cities, or as celebrity figures. We have always existed everywhere. Big and small. In the open, and heavily obscured.

As always, we’d like to remind members that these meetings, and your particpation in the topics at hand are entirely optional! We completely understand that not everyone has the time, the means, or even the interest for these kinds of activities. Even if you’d like to just attend to listen and learn, or if you want to skip it all together, you’re more than welcome! Also, also.
