We would like to invite you to #MeetTheMrs but who is she exactly? And even when you think you have her figured out, you don’t. The wife between us written by powerhouse author duo Greer Hendricks and Sarah Pekkanen keeps the readers guessing and literally exclaiming WTF out loud until the very last page of the book. If you were lucky enough to read this in advance or you get it early last month through Book of the Month Club you got the jump on what is sure to be the next “Gone Girl” like buzz book of the year.
It is hard to give too much detail about this story without giving away key points so here is a spoiler free review. The Wife Between Us is a domestic thriller that tells the story of an ex wife, and ex husband, a fiancé, a wedding to stop, and something or someone lurking just out of sight waiting for the perfect chance to cause harm. Just remember that nobody can be trusted and just when you think you have it all figured out, you don’t. A rollercoaster of a read that was impossible to put down. I will say that some of the transitions between points of view in the book were confusing especially around the end of part one. I had to reread a certain page or two a couple of times to figure out what the heck had just happened, but after I did y mind was completely blown. The ex wife's character is a bit hard to take at times, and you find yourself wanting to skip ahead to where she stops talking about doing something to where she actually does it but it is worth the build up and wait. Overall it was an excellent book! I am curious how the two authors wrote the book together. It would be neat if each of them was responsible for writing from a different characters POV. Not sure if that is how they did it but I could see how it would have been possible. Highly recommend this to anyone who enjoys thrillers with unreliable narrators.
