How about a little #meetyourmaker post and learn about my passions. Hi everyone! I’m Darian and maker and running of Knitting By Darian. Knitting had been a passion of mine for just over three years now. Opening my @etsy shop in January of 2016 was an amazing step for me as a maker. I love running a shop almost as much as I love making for my shop. I am so proud of the, what once seemed impossible, goals I’ve accomplished in the last six months. This confidence is helping me grow into a designer which means some fun things are coming your way! New items for the spring and summer plus a big birthday giveaway is in the works for next month! Here I’m working on a gorgeous blanket out of Wool Ease Thick and Quick by @lionbrandyarn These have been my favorite needles to work with lately. I just love big chunky knits! Outside of knitting another passion of mine is field hockey 🏑 I played/coached for 13 years. I was a goalie which is the best position ever. One day I’d love to run my own college field hockey program. These are two life changing passions in my life that I hold very close to me. I don’t know where or who I’d be without them. MEET YOUR MAKER: So I got a nudge from my bro @joshscottknives to let loose a quick bio post, so here goes.. My name is Zac. A few days a go I turned 35. I am married to the beautiful @cnmohar, and we have two awesome kids, Ayla (8) and Sawyer (6). We live in a small town about an hour southeast of Seattle called Puyallup. This will be my 5th year of making knives, but my first year as a full-time maker! Finally!! Before starting this dream-job of mine, I worked as an IBEW wireman, and as a custom holstermaker for Blade-Tech Industries. In my spare time I am loving the family life and spending time with my people. I like outdoor activities, working on our homestead garden, fishing, shooting guns, writing songs and playing music..sweet reggae music! I also enjoy deep intimate conversations and long romantic walks on the beach during sunsets.. Ha!! So now you know just a little bit more about the dude making these knives you see in your feed every day!
