You are not an ally if you use your status for personal gain. If you complete a program—tuition free—are awarded a degree, get a job based on that degree and still want to cry over a grade from four years ago, that’s fine. But don’t bring me into your argument. Don’t hold up, ‘but I supported the GSA and that’s why I didn’t…fail the class? And now I want more than a million dollars because I love teh gayz so much and if it hadn’t been for them, I would have gotten a B.’ If you are not on the LGBTQ spectrum, it is not okay for you to say you were sexually discriminated against because you’re an ally. I guess I’m sorry that she didn’t get her !11!!!11!dream, but seriously? Take the class again. Take the class with a different professor. Take the class at a different university. If one grade can ruin your dream and you don’t do anything other than say it’s unfair, you have a whole other set of issues bound up in privilege and the need to have things handed to you. You still got a degree. You still got a job. And you have those things without student loans.
