6/15/2020 Harkle Update--The Jess Mulroney Mess
Oh, wow. I can’t believe so much has happened. You guys have probably been following this a lot more closely than I have, but here’s an update anyway. Hopefully, it will be useful to other people who tuned out the Harkles after George Floyd was killed.
I started to google Meghan agains last week because I knew I was coming back today and I would have to do an update. I haven’t seen any Meghan news whatsoever on any of my social media feeds, so I was shocked to find out that Jessica Mulroney was threatening black people online during the most racially charged environment of the past fifty years or so. Holy guac.

I still can’t get over the language here. “You think your voice matters, well it only matters if you express it with kindness…” It’s so dehumanizing, particularly toward a black woman. It’s also so, so Jess.

Then Jess got fired. Wow, I didn’t predict that, did I? I think she lost every single brand she had. Even The Shoebox Project.

BTW, that GMA and Shoebox allowed her to “step back” so she didn’t have to go through the humiliation of being fired.
LOL, she was also friends with Stassi Schroeder who got fired for racism. Of course she was.

Lainey has the inside scoop (everyone is from Toronto, apparently). She doesn’t defend Jess at all. Apparently, Lainey will post something about it on Monday. I expect she’ll be ghosting Ben and Jess. Heck, she may flat out go for Ben’s job. Pass the popcorn.

Meghan ghosted Jessica by leaking to the DM that she can no longer be associated with her. The irony burns.

Her “friends” also talked to Entertainment Tonight. She finds Jess’ remarks “hurtful.”

It’s interesting to read this after reading Lainey’s post because Meghan describes Jessica’s actions as “misguided” and “insensitive,” but that’s not what Lainey is describing. When I first saw Sasha’s post I wondered if maybe she was exaggerating the harm Jessica could cause her, because I just couldn’t picture Jess Mulroney as being that freaking powerful. However, Lainey 100% backs Sasha and explains why her fears were 100% justified. Heck, they may have been understated.
Scobie (and Meghan’s online team) are desperately trying to distance Meghan from this.

And that’s because Meghan was “rebranding” herself as a Black Lives Matter activist before the Jess Mess exploded.

But it’s complicated because Jess may be a witness in the DM case. There’s only so much distancing Meghan can do.

This is the part that the #ExcussexSquad isn't quite taking into account. Jess wasn’t just Meghan’s BFF and she wasn’t just using Meghan to raise her profile (she had the wedding pics on her pitching slide deck, lolololol) and increase her “white privilege.” She was also her stylist and her publicist. Many (if not most) of the decisions about brands and venues Meghan has made have been shaped by Jess. Many (if not most) of the interactions with brands have been carried out by Jess. Jess has also engaged in threatening behavior on behalf of Meghan too.

So it’s not as clear cut as Omid et. al. Try to make it out to be. Jess was Meghan’s representative and this is how she behaved while acting as Meghan’s representative.
