Tamagotchi Featured in Disney Pixar’s Upcoming ‘Turning Red’ Movie
Turning Red, an upcoming American animated comedy proceed by Walt Disney Pictures and Pixar Animation Studios is showing Tamagotchi some love! The movie is set in Toronto back in 2002 and 2003, where a teenage Chinese-Canadian girl, Mei Lee, is torn between staying a dutiful daughter and the chaos of adolescence.
The official trailer for the upcoming movie set to be released on March 11th, 2022 in the United States was just released yesterday. The first review seconds of the trailer reveal that Mei is wearing a Tamagotchi (only sporting two buttons) clipped to her right backpack strap. It’s lovely to see Tamagotchi make a cameo in a big upcoming film, and we hope to see more Tamagotchi in the full movie! Be sure to check out the full trailer here.
