19111 In response to confession 19080: She can definitely sing clean vocals as well (she’s a mezzosoprano), but she doesn’t like doing it – she says she sounds “cute”. Angela is not a fan of cleans in general anyway. As for how she learned to growl without damaging her vocal chords: on her first albums she had no training, but she then realised it was damaging her voice and she started taking vocal lessons from Melissa Cross. I think her technique involves relaxing her neck muscles and involving her stomach muscles when growling. I don’t think Angela does vocal coaching any more, but Melissa Cross definitely does, if you’re into that. I would love an Angela/Alissa duet too, but I think Angela doesn’t have any plans of returning to the music scene…
