Is the headless one Porpentine fanart?

no actually! you can thank @o3ds for the premise for that one - they described the premise, and I did my best to draw it. the premise was:

A girl with no head that walks in the woods that waits and waits, expecting her head to come back to her, so she sits on a bench and talks to strangers only to notice that one of the strangers had stolen her head. 

so yeah... it did turn out kinda porpy though, I agree!

I guess that probably deserves a mention? By the time I got to the 80s I felt like I had mostly covered what I wanted to, and B5 came out in the 90s where there was just too much sci-fi to list.

Does it do anything unusual or influential with its spaceships? I thought it was mostly similar to preceding shows like Star Trek, though looking at Wikipedia, they seem to have a more realistic ISS-like station for the humans at least.

I guess B5 pioneered the ‘space station’ genre, along with Deep Space 9? Though really there hasn’t been a lot apart from those two.

What web comics do you read?

well hmm so caveat: since Google Reader was shut down, and I never settled on a decent replacement RSS reader and moved to Tumblr for my main ‘content feed’ type thing, I’ve become very bad at keeping up with webcomics. So there are a lot of webcomics that I’ve been reading and did not intend to abandon but might need to do a full reread before resuming.

But anyway right now, I’m actively keeping up with the Act 8 Homestuck fan comic, Gunnerkrigg Court, and Goodbye to Halos, and I’m working on a first-time readthrough of El Goonish Shive which I’m blogging over on @comicalmomentum (which I rather need to update, actually!). I’ve also been reading ShootAround and Always Human lately, but I’m kind of behind on both of them.

(to nobody’s surprise, all those comics feature wlw and a most of them feature trans girls)

I won’t list all the ones I intend to catch up on “at some point” right now - it’s going to take some effort to compile and I’m not really feeling up to it right now. The plan will be to cover a lot of them on comicalmomentum anyway!

at what time?

well, probably around 11pm+ gmt at the current rate things are doing. perhaps not the best idea to do it today, maybe it would be better to get everyone back on board and then work out when we’d be best to stream.

damn it.... alright change of plans: pirate school is actually at the rogue planet/possibly a sub-brown dwarf WISE 0855-0714 (since, of course pirate school would be on a rogue planet) 7.5 light-years away, and I’m supposing that being gone from earth for 19 years doesn’t get you declared legally dead.
