I actually think Andy doesn’t completely like Barty, but no, that’s not just because Andy tends to hate people. I think they get along, but Andy does have a bit of intuition to her, right? There’s something about Barty that just doesn’t fit in her mind, and experience tells her that a smart boy with clever polite words can’t be good news. Still she’s pretty civil with him, as he hasn’t given her a reason not to be.
I actually just realized that Andy and Barty parallel each other slightly; they’re the non-conformist child, the one that wants something else, something not planned for them and is getting away with it. And while Andy is more outspoken about it, Barty has gone to more extremes to get it. So in a way they could come to understand that part of each other.

I’d love for these two to meet and discuss in very vague terms the war and the whole situation, with sharp indirect words that are meant to slice and yet give nothing away. Intellectual discussions are life. Especially during war times, with tensions rising, attacks in every corner and not knowing who to trust. Who knows, they might become friends, enemies, allies, rivals, or all of the above.
