stefan was the first person alexia came out to in the early 1900’s. at first she thought she might be into men and women, but a couple years later she felt comfortable admitting that she was only attracted to women.

she found stefan shortly after his stint with the originals in the 1920’s. again, she brought him back, like she did years prior. it’s this time that she discorveree she can speed up the processes by pushing into his mind.

they’ve gone to every star wars opening showing. they keep up with every updated lightsaber and have elaborate battles. lexi’s even dragged him to a con once. she dressed as princess leia.

they see each other more often than just for stefan’s birthday. she’s dragged leigh out to meet stefan during one christmas, and they spent the holiday together. sometimes lexi will spend a few years with stefan, other times it’s just a few weeks. when she got her day light jewelery, she specifically found him, dragged him to the closest, warmest, beach, and made him lay with her in the sun for a month straight.

EXTRA ! lexi is an incredibly physical person, especially when it comes to showing affection. she's literately always trying to hold stefan's hand, and a majority of the time she's snuck into bed with him for snuggles. he uhhh, didn't handle it well the first time and shoved her off the bed. also, she's snuck into bed when he had a girl over. by accident.

alexia met katerina in what is currently massachusetts in the early 1700’s. alexia was keeping a low profile, only went out at night because she didn’t have day light jewelry at the time. katerina approached her first. katerina was one of the older vampires alexia has been since being turned.

alexia travelled quite a bit with katerina, they would often times spend anywhere from 5 to 50 years together before they’d go their separate ways ago. 

katerina is the one that alexia explored a majority of her sexuality with. they have forever don’t they? sex can mean nothing and everything. they had a very easy friends-with-benefits relationship that they excelled at keeping a secret. 

alexia always knew that katerina was running form someone, but was never able to get anything more from katerina. she knows it’s why they traveled so much, why katerina had so many different acquaintances : never genuine friends. it’s also why alexia never accepted any favors from her like getting a daylight ring. something about owing katerina a favor just unsettled her. it didn’t take away from their friendship though. 

EXTRA ! they always knew and referred to each other as their names, alexia and katerina. so when she first met stefan and learned about katherine pierce, lexi had no idea who he was talking about until she saw a picture. lexi had to assess and process a lot of personal feelings, about katerina, katherine, especially when she was told that she died in a tomb.

when alexia first met caroline, she was still human. she was nuarotic and so thorough, but lexi picked up on her compassion instantly. honestly, it was enough for lexi to want to be caroline’s friend and keep her away from damon.

when caroline turned, her heart broke for her. she didn’t have a choice. she didn’t even know about vampires. lexi has been careful not to give herself away for stefan’s sake. but she helped caroline adjust, taught her snatch, eat and erase. and really, if being a vampire had made anyone better, it was caroline.

lexi never once judges caroline for her choice in men. matt, tyler, klaus? lexi knows what it’s like to be judged on who you love, and she would never make caroline go through that. also, she’s asked for the deets every single time. 

no humanity caroline ? no humanity caroline making stefan turn off his humanity? yeah, that’s a problem. she was there, for caroline to help her through her guilt after she turned her humanity back on. it’s also when she told caroline about her brother, about the village she massacred. humanity or not, it doesn’t take away the guilt. you just learn to live with it, and your friends will still love you, because they understand.  we’ve all gone through heartbreak care. it’s okay. you lost your mom. it’s okay to hurt.

when she smiles at him, it doesn’t exactly reach her eyes. she knows he’s being genuine, and lexi will always accept his apologies, but that doesn’t mean it takes away the sting. she does reach for his hands though, holds both of them in hers as she faced him across the table at the grill. 

“ it’s my fault too, ” she counters. she’s not used to sharing stefan with other people. he hasn’t really started living since he met elena, and she’s happy for him, truly. but she’d gotten so used to being one of the only good things in his life, that the gang as mystic falls threw her off-kilter. she squeezes his hands, and her gaze does soften with affection, the promise of spring warmth in a dull winter day. 

“ you will always be my best friend, ” she reminds him. they will fight, they’ll will argue. she’s heard the worst of it while he’s a ripper. he won’t ever get rid of her that easily. “ but listen, next time the world is going to go to hell, please let me help. i can tolerate not being the only blonde in your life, but you gotta let me help you. ”

hazel eyes remain fixated into the empty glass clutched between her hands. the fire cackles warm and hauntingly besides them , and she hasn’t curled away from the heat for decades now. she can still feel the dried up traces of tears on her cheeks ; hadn’t been able to fully wipe them away before caroline came into the room. heartache rests heavily in the air, enough to drown someone not strong enough to tolerate the weight of it. 

with a sigh that echos the pain in chest , she draws her eyes up to watch as caroline sits with her by the fire. she’s terrified of talking, terrified that if she opens her mouth she won’t stop crying. she hadn’t planned for leigh to confront damon , hadn’t expected her to die. her hands tighten around the glass, and she feels the cracks form before she hears them.

“ he killed her, ” lexi finally breaths, the words taste like poison. she’d rather drink vervain than say it again.  “ i pretended to die so that i could keep stefan save. and i wasn’t able to get to leigh early enough before he killed her. i don’t know what’s worse ; that i can’t retaliate because he’s stefan’s brother, or that leigh never knew i was alive. ”

she hasn’t cooked a proper meal in years, and she keeps her back towards stefan as she scowled at the cooking supplies. there were so many less cooking supplies when she used to cook for her brother. she stares angerly at the selection of knives. 

when she turns to face him, her expression is smooth, a mixture of caring compassion and patience. she soothes her hands over the skirts of her dress, and in some recess of her mind, she’s praying for the day she can have a meal delivered to her. 

“ i’m a lady , stefan, ” blonde lashes flutter at him, and for a moment she’s the picture of demure, “ i know nothing of cars. ” she walks around the kitchen, the heels of her boots a dull thud that echos in the empty salvatore manor, to sit at the table with him. 

she studies him, focuses on those blue eyes that remind her too much of her own deceased younger brothers. the tips of her fingers reach out to trace the sharp line of his cheeks, and her own expression remains unguarded, soft and a little bit sad when she looks at him. it’s another day of winter before the soft sun of spring can push away the lingering darkness. 

her hand drops into her lap, and the vampire allows the silence to linger between them for only a moment longer. “ none of us are ever like the person we were before we’re turned. it’s a constant fight between good and evil, between light and dark. ” she clicks her tongue before looking down at her hands in her lap. 

“ my village killed my brother. they burned our home down thinking i was inside. they knew what i was. ” she admits, says the words for the first time since it’s happened. “ i slaughtered the whole village and my humanity wasn’t even off. none of us are ever just good, we’re never a newly bought car or a horse. we get dinged up, we get bruised, but we have to keep getting up, stefan. ” she finally looks at him, full of resolve. 

“ we get up and move on and try again, and that’s the most beautiful part about all of this. it’s the most human part of all of us. ”

Lexi adores children.  She loves their innocents, and they’re hopefulness,they’re acceptance and willingness to believe anything and everything. Whileshe’s never had a desire to have her own, even when she was human, she’s goodwith them. Lexi is incredibly protective over all children. Her maternal instinctis strong, and if she were still human, Lexi would have made an excellentmother. But even as a human, even when she was of age to marry, to bare children,Lexi was busy taking care of her younger brother, and the idea of having achild of her own made her nauseous.

But, since they’re not her own, Lexi will happily sit downon the floor and play with them, or hold them, or sing them to sleep. She loveseverything about children. As long as they’re over the age of, say 5. Lexi isn’tcomfortable with newborns and babies. If a diaper needs to be changed? She’ll convenientlyhave to go. She’s terrified of hurting them, of holding them a little bit tootight, of not understanding their needs and their cries, and teething babiescan cry a lot. She does better whenthey’re older, able to speak for themselves.
