Sky: Cotl Headcanons (#2)

Alrighty, my stars! I'm here with another headcanon of mine, which is more rooted to my AU — BUT HEY! It could somewhat tie into the lore? Idk, it's mostly something for my AU.

You know how some of the spirits in the constellations have capes they wear and you can get? Well, it got me thinking of this.

My second headcanon is that, those spirits in their respective constellations with capes are one of the — if not — the first generation of Skykids, sent by Megabird (or who I more often call Mother Bird) themselves.

They were sent for the same purpose as the modern Skykids of today (us or our OC's), and that is to defeat the darkness.

Unfortunately, they were sent sometime before the events of The Two Embers, which would still be before the Shattering took place, I believe.

Simply put, they were sent too soon, forced to grow up in a world that was already on the way towards complete devastation; they failed, and so they died carrying that guilt.

Praying Acolyte and Memory Whisperer in particular feel the most guilt; I mean, imagine being one of the few Sky kids at that time — and on top of that, someone who lives and works in the Vault of Knowledge, yet still couldn't find a solution. They would be the most guilty as they had access to the knowledge they need, and yet even then, they weren't able to find a way to defeat the darkness.

They had to watch as their colleagues died there, as the Praying Acolyte prayed to their headstones until their very last breath. While Memory Whisperer felt too guilty to go to them, so they too died alone, in the 4th floor of the Vault (or whichever floor they can be found on) with the comfort of the cosmic manta — or ghost manta? I'd like to know which is it.

I Don’t Like It! It bothers me so much for some reason!
